2026 Michigan Freshman Showcase Preview: Outside Hitters

Here's a look at some of the outside hitters that will be competing.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1009098' first='Laura' last='Aubrey'], Mercy/Legacy</strong></h2>   <p>Aubrey plays with a lot of explosiveness. She's got a strong follow through on her swing that leads to some impressive attack angles. Aubrey shows good swagger on the floor as well, playing confident without being a showboat.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='938309' first='Juliet' last='Berishaj'], Eisenhower/Legacy</strong></h2>   <p>Though she can deliver on either end of the net, Berishaj has shown she's one of the most consistent right side finishers in this class. She sees her attack lanes really well and has steady power on each swing.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='979317' first='Olivia' last='Burkert'], Milford/Legacy</strong></h2>   <p>Burkert is an outside that shows consistent mechanics and can put a nice pop on the ball. She stays engaged throughout the play and is able to come through with some challenging digs.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1008274' first='Londyn' last='Cottrill'], Milford/Legacy</strong></h2>   <p>A well-balanced outside that has good length, Cottrill is able to adjust her swing mechanics to effectively place the ball and finish at a high rate. She's able to produce a lot of power from anywhere on the floor.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1008784' first='Georgia' last='Glynn'], Mercy/High Performance</strong></h2>   <p>Glynn brings good energy to the floor and stays aggressive at the net. She shows good potential in all phases of the game while continuing to build on her speed of play.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='995140' first='Lainey' last='Holt'], Woodhaven/Michigan Elite</strong></h2>   <p>Holt has been able to succeed anywhere along the net and she's a prospect that wants the ball coming her way in a big moment. She plays with a lot of aggression, and a lot of energy that her teammates are able to feed on.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1007545' first='Chessa' last='Kaiton'], FH Northern/FaR Out</strong></h2>   <p>Kaiton is a player that can climb the ladder, as she gets a lot of good air off the ground. She's also very spry, which allows her to make some highlight-reel digs. Kaiton's energy and hustle can't be questioned.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1007471' first='Ryleigh' last='Kingma'], Kenowa Hills/FaR Out</strong></h2>   <p>Kingma has been successful from either pin. She's got an athletic swing and sees the floor well to be able to spread the ball out and keep opponents guessing where she's going to put it. Kingma stays active at the net, which provides a defensive boost as well.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1009071' first='Charlotte' last='Kozak'], Mercy/High Performance</strong></h2>   <p>Kozak shows a lot of promise in a talented 2030 outsides field. She's got good length on her swing and is able to high point the ball well to get as much power on her swings as possible.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1007820' first='Elodie' last='Schreurs'], Portage Northern/FaR Out</strong></h2>   <p>Schreurs plays longer than her 5'11' listing. She's got a long wingspan that makes her very disruptive at the net, both in her attacks and with her blocking effort. Schreurs shows a good foundation in all phases of the game.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1001522' first='Torrie' last='Tacia'], Big Rapids/FaR Out</strong></h2>   <p>Tacia takes an aggressive approach at the net and has a potent follow through that leads to a lot of velocity on her attacks. Her swings can really shift the momentum of a match and provide a nice boost to the energy of her team.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='622403' first='Petra' last='Townsend'], Pioneer/Legacy</strong></h2>   <p>Townsend can be effective anywhere along the net, as she's got impressive footwork and plays with a lot of agility. Each attack comes with a lot of downward momentum to make her attacks hard to dig up.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='984451' first='Cate' last='Verkeyn'], Mercy/Legacy</strong></h2>   <p>Verkeyn was a big catalyst to Legacy's national championship success. She really shined in the biggest matches, showing a lot of composure and shot-making ability when the pressure was on.</p>
