First Contact Matters: DS Making Their Mark on 2029's Rankings

The best offenses often receive the headlines, but every successful team begins with quality first contact. Defensive specialists and liberos have become some of the most valuable players on the floor, using anticipation, communication and consistency to keep their teams in system and extend rallies.   Georgia's latest Class of 2029 rankings feature a talented group of young backcourt players who continue to develop those skills. These six athletes have already positioned themselves among the state's Top 100 and will be worth following as they begin their high school careers.    Lillian continues representing the strength of Georgia's defensive talent with a game centered around reliability and consistency. Players at her position often make their greatest strides through experience and confidence, and the upcoming season should provide opportunities for both. Her ability to keep rallies alive and provide controlled first contacts gives her team an important foundation.
