Five Exhilarating Players on Day Two of USAV 16-17 Nationals

These players made a lot of exhilarating plays on the second day of the 16, 17 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships on Wednesday at the Indiana Convention Center. She takes a number of solid swings. Grubb made a number of plays on slides. Grubb forms huge double blocks with her sound vertical jump. Grubb consistently helps teammates running fakes toward the net to pull blockers away from them. Grubb also sends across a hard jump serve.     Athleticism runs strong in her family and she's doing what she can to help 16-2 win, similar to what she did for St. Henry in the fall. Blackburn makes great first touches, only diving when needed, yet staying under control. Her serving is also strong. Blackburn aggressively sends jump floats to different zones to keep opponents out of system. Her versatility also shows in her serving. Blackburn takes big rips on go routes, attacking seams with accuracy.     Wagner makes the simple passes for 17 Elite Black. Wagner also showed she can make pancake digs when needed. Wagner provides great net backup and quality out of system sets. Wagner shows a lot of contagious enthusiasm on the court. Her play at the libero spot could also be a big key for Collierville in the fall.     Posey has a solid vertical jump then uses a quick arm swing to get on top of balls and send them screaming to the ground. Posey produces from all six spots on the court. Posey even takes solid swings from the back row and tips over double blocks if defensive specialists are playing back. Posey said the communication with her teammates and shot selection have improved during club season.     Beatty may not have as many flashy plays as some because she consistently makes the routine first contacts. Beatty makes crisp out of system sets and provides sound net protection. Beatty said her leadership and consistency on the court have improved throughout the club season.
