We just finished up our preseason position poll regarding those awesome passers. Voters had the opportunity to either vote for someone who is on the list already or input their own vote. When the dust settled there were five players with the most votes. We asked each one of them a few questions so that we may get to know them a little bit better. We asked these three questions. Why is passing such an important skill? What is 1 goal of yours this season? and 1 shoutout to a coach or teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='752752' first='Emma' last='Rogers']: 2027 DS from Community Christian.

Passing is so important because it is literally in every play of the game. And serve receive is such a big part because the teams that pass the best have a better chance of scoring.

To be a good leader on the court and to help us win as much as possible.

All of my school/club coaches who have helped me to be the best passer I can be!

[player_tooltip player_id='736675' first='Madison' last='Godding']: 2027 DS from Claremore.

Passing is the backbone of volleyball because it impacts both the offensive and defensive side of the game. A great pass lets our setter run the offense, and consistent passing keeps us in system, giving our team the best chance to succeed.

With this being my senior season, my biggest goal is to be present and enjoy every second of it. I want to appreciate my teammates and coaches because I know these moments won't last forever. On the court, I want to be as consistent as I can in serve receive, be a leader my teammates can count on, and help my team compete for a state championship.

For my shoutout, I'd like to recognize Coach Jackson. Thank you for believing in me, holding me to a high standard, always pushing me to reach my full potential and never letting me forget how high my ceiling is. Your support and confidence in me have made a lasting impact, and I'm incredibly grateful for everything you've done throughout my journey.

[player_tooltip player_id='715182' first='Isabella' last='Robberson'] 2028 DS from Community Christian.

Passing is an important skill because it initializes the play and creates opportunities to score for your team. Defense is key to becoming a very successful team, making it hard for the opposing team to score.
2. My goal this season is to become a better version of myself on and off the court while glorifying God and leading others to Him. I would like to be consistent, hard working and continue to play at the best of my ability while having passion for the sport I love.
3. I would like to shout out Coach Will Etheridge for not only making me a better player/individual but helping my love for this sport grow exponentially!

[player_tooltip player_id='752538' first='Cheyenne' last='Denwalt'] 2028 DS for Mount St. Mary.

Passing is an important skill because it's so precise. It helps the team by setting up a big play.

1 goal this season is to become a leader not only off the court but off the court as well.

I want to shout out coach Polcovich! she influenced me to start playing and believed in me since day one!

[player_tooltip player_id='779784' first='Marleigh' last='O'Connor'] 2028 DS for Norman.

I believe passing is such an important skill because it's the first touch of play and can determine whether my offense can be successful or not.

One of my goals for not only this season but for every season is to strive to become the best all around teammate and player I know I can be, I believe there's so much room for growth in every aspect of who I am as a player, teammate, and person.

I'd love to give a huge shoutout to Coach Alexis Brendemihl, Coach Rachel Manriquez, my coaches at Madfrog, and all of my high school and club teammates. Thank you for making me love volleyball more than I ever thought was possible and for creating environments that feel like family. I'm so grateful for every lesson, memory, and friendship i've been blessed with so far. Most importantly, I want to thank my mom and dad. Thank you for giving me every opportunity I could have ever asked for—and then some. love y'all!
