Houston Stock Up Showcase Top Performers Vol 3

Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back! We had some big events that were held at the Competitive Edge Sports Complex on July 25th. The Houston Stock Up showcase was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors at the Houston Stock Up showcase.    Jade is an impactful defensive player who competed at the Houston showcase on July 25th. We loved how her court vision showed early reads on servers and attackers well before contact. The floor coverage she generated was extraordinary for a player at any height and the one-handed saves and extended digs she produced in the scrimmage competition drew reactions from everyone in the gym. Her platform mechanics stayed clean under pressure and her first contact gave her team real options rather than just keeping the ball in play. She competed with an edge that never softened, brought her teammates into every rally, and carried herself with a sportsmanship and competitive fire that made her easy to root for from the first point to the last. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.     Gabby brings great length to the back row that changes what a defense can do structurally and she used that height throughout the day to handle high-velocity attacks that shorter liberos have to absorb low rather than intercept at range. Her serve receive was extremely dependable in every scrimmage setting. Court coaches noted her reading ability specifically, pointing to how early she identified hitter tendencies and adjusted her positioning before the ball was even set. Miss Dooley does such a great job leading both vocally and by example with teammates that she has never met before. This speaks volumes about who she is and her character. She is always ready to volunteer for any demonstration and has never met a stranger. She is the kind of player who can be glue to a roster both on and off of the court. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.     Emrie walked into the Houston showcase in Spring and proved that her astounding frame is only part of her story. Her footwork was better than you expect at this height and this age and the athleticism she showed moving through the system in transition suggested a player whose physical development and volleyball IQ are advancing at a great rate. Her blocking mechanics drew consistent attention from court coaches throughout the day and the ability she showed to close on tempo sets with a quick and well-angled first step is the kind of thing you typically do not see from a prospect who is still this early in her career. She competed with a focus and coachability throughout every segment of the event that evaluators noted as full of potential. The way she responded to coaching in real time spoke to a character and competitive mindset that goes well beyond the physical tools. The sportsmanship she carried through the entire day was just as impressive as her production. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
