I.D That Sophomore: Setters

<p>The Dallas Texas Sophomore I.D Showcase brought 2 hours of fun, hustle, and style. Many athletes showing up to show off what makes them different on the court. And the class of 2029 did not miss their mark. It was a treat to see some up and coming setters that are ready to run the court. She commands the court when she's on, pushing her hitters to run the quick ball and attack with intensity. Standing at 5'8, her ability to move about the court and meet the ball in the air are a great aid to the tempo she favors. Her footwork and confidence show off her dedicated training, never faltering when it comes to live game play. Violet is a setter that can read the court, make a confident decision, and execute the play with precision! A definite need to see this coming season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Harper Harbuck, setter out of Aledo, finishing her '25-26 club season with Peak Volleyball, brings the consistency needed in this position. The first thing to note about Harper's game is how clean the set is out of her hands. She does all the little things right first, before she delivers a ball to her hitters. Getting her feet around the ball, squaring off hips and shoulders, hands up and framing the ball early, a perfect recipe for a good, clean ball. With little spin and near perfect consistency at the net, there is no doubt, Harper is a trusted addition to any team she plays with.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Colbie Brooks, a technical setter out of Edgewood, Tx. Bringing hustle, consistency, and quality technique to the game. One thing that stands out early about Colbie is the consistency of her setter form. Time and again throughout play she delivers every ball with the same form and follow through. It is no small feat to be able to deliver the same ball, at the same tempo, from every corner of the court. Her level of play exemplifies commitment, attention to detail and dependability, keep Colbie on the court!</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Let's talk about a setter with some size! Lyla Bailey, 5'11 setter from Houston who sets herself apart by commanding the court early. There is a certain confidence that comes from Lyla when she is on, pushing herself to get her hands on the ball and being intentional about her delivery. She encourages those on the court with her, building energy and momentum and she consistently runs the tempo on her side. Lyla brings the leadership necessary for a setter to run an offense, and does it with grace and style.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Addie Warren, setter out of Northwest High School, is all about technique. With hands like magic, Addie delivers a clean, consistent, up tempo set when she is on the court. Trusting her instincts and training, she reacts to the pass without hesitation and does well communicating her decisions with the ball. Making the effort to get both feet to the ball and move it along the net with decisiveness. her confidence, communication, and over all athleticism have set her apart and will continue to build her abilities as a setter. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Laila Jackson, an all out hustle setter from Red Oak, Tx. The hard part of the setter job is being held accountable for every second touch and Laila takes the job intentionally. In spite of her size, standing at 5'2, she makes every effort possible to get to he ball and make a better play from what she is given. She communicates with those on the court with her and makes it her mission to get her hands on as many passes as possible. Taking her feet, staying ready, and reacting to her reads, Laila Jackson is going to play the ball when she is on the court. </p>
