Faith Castaneda | Prep Dig Scout
An aggressive setter out of Lovejoy High School, Violet Sanders, brought a quick and consistent tempo to Carrollton for the Sophomore I.D Showcase. She commands the court when she’s on, pushing her hitters to run the quick ball and attack with intensity. Standing at 5’8, her ability to move about the court and meet the ball in the air are a great aid to the tempo she favors. Her footwork and confidence show off her dedicated training, never faltering when it comes to live game play. Violet is a setter that can read the court, make a confident decision, and execute the play with precision! A definite need to see this coming season.

Violet is a setter I have been watching with genuine interest and her court vision and communication have consistently been the things that stand out most when she is on the floor. She processes the game quickly, her hitters trust her, and she carries herself with a confidence that tends to make everyone around her play better. The question I am looking to answer on Sunday is whether her tempo variety and decision-making hold up when the competition level rises. She has a lot of the tools we look for to make a run at the state rankings and I am looking forward to seeing what she does with this opportunity. Please stay tuned to see what our court coaches and scouts have to say about her play. Can she make the jump from Official Watch List to State Ranking List? We shall see.

Miss Sanders is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Lovejoy High School and also plays for the Victory volleyball club. Equipped with a stellar short zone serve and very soft hands, this young lady played exceptionally well on her court during the scrimmage portion of the showcase. She also uses her long arms very well on the defensive side of the ball as she is able to use them to increase her range. She creates such a great angle to keep the ball in play on her side and every coach would love a setter who plays elite defense. While a lot of setters love to release early in order to try to beat the pass to the net, Violet truly understands the importance of defense and stays disciplined to play the ball before she releases. This tells us that she has a high volleyball IQ and understands her role well. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
