More Sound Setters from Houston Stock Up Showcase

While players from the second most populated state in the union, two came from Louisiana and another from Florida. This next batch features one out-of-Lone Star State setter that had sound days in Spring on Saturday to go with the solid in-staters.    Gray (pictured) made about a four to five-hour trip from the Baton Rouge area and made a great impression. She is turning into a sound, all-around player entering high school. Gray makes dynamic sets on one play then pounds balls on the next. Her ball control is solid. She puts amazing touches on her sets and can smoke back sets with a nice downward trajectory. Her defense really stood out. She reads balls well and uses a great platform to make good first touches. She uses nice reflexes to keep balls alive and is a solid communicator on the court.     Iverson gives teams more to consider with her left-handed serve to different zones on the court. Iverson also made a number of sound two to three-point passes to make sure the offense got into a good rhythm. She was also very vocal on the court. Iverson put a lot of good touches on her sets. She is working on landing deceptive setters to score quick points for her teams.     Pree did a great job cheering on the other players on the court on each play. She has put a lot of work on touches on her sets and it is paying dividends. Pree uses a nice platform to execute a variety of sets at various speeds. She does a great job executing the go routes, shoots and back sets with not much lean. Pree sends out of system balls back toward the net and has nice blocking form. Eliminating leans on her back sets will help her not tip off blockers as much.     Norman executes nice back sets. Norman reads the court well and puts hitters in great position to terminate balls. Norman executes a variety of sets including back sets. Norman does not lock her arms allowing her to put great touches on sets. Norman also does a great job sending out of system sets back toward the net so hitters can put down balls across.     Munoz makes things happen on first and second touches. She uses a nice platform to make crisp first passes to jumpstart the offensive rhythm. Munoz has outstanding range, allowing her to track balls down without diving or leaning too much. Munoz handles tips and hard crosses with precision. Munoz also does a nice job running the offense. She can make nice passes then go up to take hard rips when needed.
