Players to Watch at Prep Dig Houston Stock Up Showcase

<p>After a successful event in the Dallas area last Sunday, the Prep Dig Showcase series comes to Houston this weekend, providing prospects in the region with a unique opportunity to be seen right before the start of the high school season.</p>   <p>Our Prep Dig Houston Stock Up event will be held on Saturday at the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] facility in Spring, and will feature players from the classes of 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030, providing an intriguing mix of talent - click <a href="https://events.prepdig.com/e/2296/register/houston-stock-up-showcase">here</a> and register now!</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.instagram.com/p/Da5-TQ_H71A/ </div></figure>   <p>We're excited to get to watch some of the most promising players from the area in action on Saturday, and here are a few names who could deliver strong performances in the event:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Mendoza is a class of 2028 setter who features for Allen Academy and was with [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] BCS during the last club season. She has a rare combination of physical and technical tools that make her stand out as one of the most promising setters in the region. Very few players in the position can match Mendoza's physicality, and she uses it to her advantage in every aspect of the game. She has excellent setting hands, is very stable with her setting platform and does a great job of speeding things up offensively and making life harder for opposing blockers when in system. She's a very promising player who can play defense in all three positions and performs at a high level by making the most of her positioning, her ability to adjust and her superior reflexes. Parra has excellent ball control, which also makes of her a reliable passer. A left-handed, six-foot-tall player, she has great tools to thrive at the net and does so, impacting the game on both sides of the ball. Offensively, she thrives by making contact with the ball at a very high point and excelling with her shot selection - her excellent footwork allows her to adjust to any sets and not lose her timing or power. Pickens is also an elite blocker who not only makes the most of her size to shut opponents down but also shows great ability to read opponents. </p>
