Denney involves a number of hitters, making sure opponents respect all of them and can't key on specific ones. She does a great job reading blocks then putting jump sets away from them. Her serving often keeps defenses out of rhythm. Denney also plays good defense. Lawson has the chance to take over as the primary setter this fall as last year's assists leader graduated. Lawson executes a variety of sets and made good first contacts to start the offensive rhythm. Lawson also takes sound swings. Faulkner makes puts up high-arcing angles so hitters can take high attacks and avoid hitting directly into blocks. Faulkner also provides solid net backup. Faulkner reacts quickly to balls, often keeping plays alive.
