This is it.

USAV Nationals has raced by. Perhaps the whole club season has felt like that, too. Either way, Nebraska's 16s and 17s competitors are looking for a big conclusion to the summer campaign. A select few Great Plains Region teams have battled to the coveted Gold brackets in their respective divisions, and we have the names to know for the final push.

A GJNC podium push could go through these emerging stars. But, of course, any championship triumph is a team effort, especially on club volleyball's biggest stage. We can't wait to break down all the happenings from Indianapolis, and this is just a small way to get you primed for the big finale.

Look for these athletes to leave one more lasting impression. There's no better place to do it.

Speaking of leaving lasting impressions, Thayer-Mencke's straight-down stuff block in Thursday's challenge match against HPSTL was the bracket-clinching moment for [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 17 Synergy. This 17 Open quarterfinalist has been brilliant at every step of the GJNC journey, and Thayer-Mencke's right-side contributions cannot be overlooked. She has grown increasingly comfortable in 17 Synergy's diverse offense while providing the wing blocking prowess to bolster the defense. The final push begins against KC Power in a classic Great Plains-Heart of America duel. This Fort Calhoun star will be ready.

We had to get 17 Synergy's elite cast of 2028s in the mix. Wallraff has stepped up for a team that can field a few different liberos in any given match. Last year's high school brought a massive step forward for Wallraff, who stepped into Elkhorn North's contrasting jersey and helped the team return to the Class B finals. She's now delivering her multi-faceted influence at the 17 Open level. Wallraff can drop dimes from the service line and makes the most of whatever spot she occupies in the lineup. It's an embodiment of the Synergy spirit that has put [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] on this stage before. Another podium push looms.

What a climb for Nebraska Juniors 17 Black. Yesterday's feature noted the team's "overachievement" based on its opening-round seeding. Riggins and her team ensured that Round 1 would not be viewed as a fluke. Whenever 17 Black has needed some clutch production on the left side at GJNC, Riggins has taken the initiative. We know about her scoring potential at the net, but Riggins has also brought so much of her quality ball control to postseason play. That elevated Nebraska Juniors to a dramatic challenge-round victory over Seal Beach, propelling 17 Black into Friday's final eight.

We go from one pin to another. Ervin's lefty hammer has been tearing it up at Ogallala High School for multiple years, but she's now taking that show on the road. Her early tenure as a prep middle blocker brings back fond memories. However, Ervin has firmly cemented her status as Nebraska Juniors' leading opposite, churning out indefensible heat behind the setter. She is also a sure bet to score on 17 Black's crossing patterns, which constantly confound opposing blockers. Ervin is poised for a big finish, and a match against Central Missouri VBC is first on the Friday docket.

Nebraska Juniors is back at it again. The club's Omaha Fusion crew has been a frequent conversation topic since we saw it at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament. But, clearly, this team's consistent play doesn't solely apply to regional competition. McCarthy has anchored the team's back row in Indianapolis, delivering the same serve-receive stability we saw on the local circuit. She is also an eager secondary setter who thrives in marathons and scramble situations. Omaha Fusion brought its best for Thursday play, sweeping through Round 2 pools and logging one more victory in the crossover contest. The 16 American division has its newest underdog contender.

Omaha Fusion's strength goes far beyond ball control. Kellogg has provided invaluable firepower at the net no matter which position she plays around the dial. The Omaha Roadrunners star tallied an impressive 3.4 kills per set last fall, so we had lofty expectations for this pin hitter heading into 2026. She has already cleared that bar with her over-the-top termination at Fusion's opposite position. Nebraska Juniors' GJNC ascent is a stark reminder to throw any seedings out the window when the big postseason prize is at stake.
