<p>Our eyes are on a few early matches to start week two of the season as these contests include athletes from each team that have the ability to influence the game in a big way from their individual roles. Here are some notes in anticipation of some big effort from these indivduals on both sides of the net.</p>

<li>Dehart enters the 2026 season with 701 career kills. Contributing well in her freshman season, she has been a big force the past two years with consecutive efforts averaging over three kills per set on a total of 594 kills over that span. At 6'1, she is an athletic middle with a .362 career efficieny and 50% kill rate. She also has 181 total blocks, including a career high 3.1 b/m in 2025. Dehart is committed to DI Toledo for basketball. </li>

<li>Brown dished a career best 800 assists in 2025 as her total now stands at 2,024 assists for her career. The Butler commit has been a major factor for Columbian with the ball traveling through her hands often for three seasons. Other areas she has been really include include at the service line and defensively. She produced 55 service aces last season while boasting a career average of 7.6 d/m. Brown is committed to Division I Butler at the next level.</li>

<p><strong><em>RIVERVIEW vs HILAND</em></strong></p>

<li>The Marist commit entered her senior season with 2,442 career assists as Riverview finished the 2025 season with a 21-5 record overall. She is a terrific floor leader and distributor, with steady gains made throughout her career, including earning over 10 a/s for the first time during her junior season. She also averaged a career high 12.2 digs per match last season. Her leadership will be put to the test moreso this season following the graduation of their top point scorer from the past couple of seasons. So far, the Black Bears are 3-0 through Saturday's play. </li>

<li>Mast has been a key factor for Hiland for two seasons. Entering her junior year, she has already earned 573 total kills, with a career high effort in 2025 that included a 4.8 k/s average. Her numbers were up across the board last year as she was more efficient at .254 on nearly a 40% kill rate. Mast also contributed a career high 12.3 digs per match. Mast has good length as a primary pin attacker with a high touch point and good pace that can challenge lengthy blockers in front of her well.</li>

<p><strong><em>SOUTH WEBSTER</em></strong> <strong><em>vs UNIOTO</em></strong></p>

<li>Claxon was one of the top offensive freshman in 2025 as she led South Webster's offense. A 5'11 pin, she averaged 3.4 k/s on a total of 320 kills. She followed up her volleyball effort by averaging 12 ppg on the basketball court, establishing herself as a younger athlete with a very bright high school athletics career ahead of her following a legacy of Claxon's before her at SW. On the volleyball court, she has a fast arm that can get the ball on the defense quickly. Expect her offensive numbers to increase this season.</li>

<p><strong>Kinzli Batson</strong> - Unioto</p>

<li>A 5'6 junior setter, Batson had a breakout season in 2025 as she earned 761 assists in her first opportunity to as the primary floor leader for the Shermans. With a career total of 902 assists, she is poised to lead Unioto's offense to improved outcomes given they return a core group of returners around her that contributed well offensively and in the first-touch phase last season.</li>
