She stayed prepared to attack, transitioned back into the play and continued looking for opportunities instead of waiting for the showcase to come to her. There is a difference between simply participating in a drill and approaching every rep as a chance to get better, and Madeline showed the latter. Her willingness to stay engaged through the full rally made her presence more meaningful than any one swing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>That competitiveness was balanced by a willingness to work within the group. Showcase environments can tempt young athletes into trying to manufacture highlight moments, but volleyball rarely rewards forcing the game. Madeline continued competing through imperfect situations and adjusting to the athletes around her instead of allowing unfamiliarity to become an excuse.
