DS' that Dominated Prep Dig Sizzle

One thing I noticed at the Prep Dig Sizzle was the depth most schools had in the DS position. Most teams had four or more ds' on their teams. What that means for a lot of these girls is that they really have to work hard this season to make it into that varsity rotation. Check out my other article:      Logan is one of those players who somehow always knows exactly what her team needs and when they need it. She can go from calming down a teammate to hyping them up in a matter of seconds. She also does an amazing job of working together with everyone in the back row to make sure their serve receive and defense are a well-oiled machine. Ramstack is always so quick to read her hitters and even quicker to react, resulting in her always getting where she needs to be. This USML commit definitely has a bright season and future ahead.     [player_tooltip player_id='780596' first='Audrey' last='Howe'] is a sophomore who not only worked her way into the varsity lineup, but it looks like she's in the running for the bro jersey. She took the opportunity and left it all on the court. Audrey did a very good job getting her feet to the ball and creating a clean first contact for her setters. You can tell she stays very disciplined on both defense and serve receive. She brings that calm, yet still aggressive back row that I think will truly help the Hawkettes.     Russmann is one of those players that you might not be drawn to at first because she's not vocally the loudest on the court. However, the way she plays speaks for herself. The more you watch her, the more you notice her true athleticism and skill set. She leans heavily on discipline and a competitive drive like no other. She is well-rounded and consistent. If she happens to fault, she is quick to fix it, and you will more than likely not see it happen again. Russmann has done a phenomenal job clawing her way into the lineup, even though there are many talented ds' in the Spartan program. Between her, Allaman, and Stillwell, PV is going to have a tough back row to score on.     Piper is the key component of Assumption's outstanding back row and is the epitome of a libero. Hodge's ball control, consistency, and court awareness help her stand out amongst other ds'. She shows a great amount of confidence and leadership in the back row and is someone that her team looks to for guidance and reassurance. I absolutely love watching her in action because of her ability to throw herself all over the floor and still somehow manage to get the prettiest pass to not only keep her team alive, but even more so keep them in system.     Dykstra showed at the Prep Dig Sizzle that she is a promising defensive player in both left back and middle back. She was quick to get behind the ball and make a solid first contact for her setter. Abby shows a great level of confidence and stability, especially in high-pressure situations. The way Dykstra works with Ramstack in the back row makes them indispensable to the Bettendorf defense.
