Part 1 Of Stock Up Show Case 2029 Player Evaluations

<p>Of all the classes that took part in the 2026 Stock Up Showcase, it was the Class of 2029 prospects that really made a name for themselves.</p>   <p>Here's the first part of our 2029 player evaluations from Sunday's event.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='846488' first='Korwyn' last='Stowell'], S South Lyon East/L2</strong></h2>   <p>Stowell did a good job of pushing herself to keep her foot on the gas and run a fast-paced attack when playing alongside these talented hitters. She showed a lot of good mechanics during drills and then was able to play seamlessly when scrimmage began.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='778631' first='Breanna' last='McMahon'], DS/L South Lyon East/L2</strong></h2>   <p>McMahon showed a lot of well-round athleticism on Sunday. She's really spry and can make some impressive defensive plays, but she also showed the ability to put together a potent swing at the net when she got a chance. She can get a lot of air and put a big pop on the ball.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='849862' first='Claire' last='Ryan'], OH SMCC/Michigan Elite</strong></h2>   <p>Ryan didn't have the length of some of her peers at 5'8”, but she proved that she can bring as much power at the net as anyone. She could look a little unassuming, but when the ball came her way, she really unleased on it and did it with an athletic and fundamentally sound swing.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='775516' first='Elizabeth' last='Burke'], DS/L St. Catherine Academy/Michigan Elite</strong></h2>   <p>Burke brings a lot of great intangibles to the floor. Overall, she's a great leader and communicator, but is able to back up those skills with confident play in the back row. Burke always looks in control and is someone her teammates can rely on to keep the ball in play.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='849359' first='Anna' last='McBride'], DS/L Country Day/High Performance</strong></h2>   <p>McBride keeps herself low to the ground and does a good job of being able to move quickly while not compromising her position to get under the ball. She had good consistency on her serve receive and first contact and looks to be a defender on the rise in this class.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='990130' first='Haley' last='Fellin'], OH Athens/Michigan Elite</strong></h2>   <p>Fellin did a good job of generating some buzz for herself at this event. Often times I would see a solid swing that caught my eye and time and again, it was Fellin doing it. She's got really good hops off the floor and she keeps her swing nice and simple, while generating plenty of torque.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='880901' first='Charlotte' last='Bergeron'], OH South Lyon East/Dynamite</strong></h2>   <p>Bergeron did a good job of mixing up her swings. She had steady power when she got a clean look at the ball, but also made some smart offspeed plays to foot defenders. Bergeron also spread the ball around the opposing side of the floor, not hitting the same space twice.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='848405' first='Olivia' last='Riha'], OH Dearborn/Passion</strong></h2>   <p>Riha was another player that helped raise her stock on Sunday. She stands 5'10” and really uses her length well at the net. She had one of the best verticals at the Showcase and used it to really unload on the ball. Riha could do a fierce quick attack, or she could wait on the ball and really power through.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1003243' first='Ayla' last='Phelps'], MB Davison/Legacy</strong></h2>   <p>Phelps was part of a talented group of middles from the 2029 class that held their own. At 6'1”, Phelps doesn't need a lot of space to make a big impact. She is able to cover a lot of the net with her wingspan, and she stays light on her feet to remain aggressive, both in her blocking and her attacks.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='782946' first='Catie' last='Jilek'], S/RS Portage Central/FaR Out</strong></h2>   <p>Jilek was as advertised after having an outstanding club season. She's got all the right instincts at both positions she plays. Her setting decisions lead to a lot of positives, and she knows when to turn up another gear for a hot hitter. She can also be a dominant force at the net, both in her attacks and her defensive ability.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='776808' first='Brynn' last='Johnson'], OH Marshall/FaR Out</strong></h2>   <p>Johnson impressed at last year's Freshman Showcase and has only improved her game by leaps and bounds since then. Johnson plays with confidence, and a little swagger, as she knows there aren't many outsides in the state that can keep up with her pace. Johnson has all the shots in her arsenal, but also is a high-level defender that can make a momentum-swinging dig.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='782164' first='Isabelle' last='Brown'], DS/L Cadillac/FaR Out</strong></h2>   <p>Another prospect that can do it all is Brown, who could be a lead six-rotation outside hitter at a lot of programs, but is also one of the very best liberos in the country for the Class of 2029. Brown leaves it all on the floor and doesn't rest on her laurels. She also brings a lot of positive energy that her peers feed off of. There's not ceiling for how far Brown can take her skills.</p>
