The Countdown Begins: All Eyes on the Seniors

The Class of 2027 is entering one of the most exciting chapters of its volleyball journey. As these athletes prepare for their senior seasons, they've been putting in the extra work. This group is filled with talented competitors who have continued to elevate their game while embracing leadership role within their programs. Here are a few standouts who caught my attention and are ready to make their upcoming senior season one to remember.    Ratay was fun to watch! Her offense seemed to settle every time she was running the floor. On one rally, she sprinted well beyond the 10-foot line to chase down a tough pass, reset her feet, and delivered a perfectly timed pipe in the middle of the court. Beyond her technical ability, Ratay communicated confidently with every hitter which helped keep the tempo of the offense flowing consistently! Her relentless hustle, soft hands, and dependable defense will take her far.     Sesi is an all-around, primary, outside attacker. She was one the most complete players on the court, contributing to every phrase of the game. Whether she was receiving difficult serves, digging hard-driven attacks, or terminating balls from the outside position, she found ways to impact every rally. Sesi never looked out of rhythm, even when things got tough. Her ability to seamlessly shift from defense to offense highlights her discipline and conditioning. She attacked with confidence and wasn't afraid to challenge the block. During a rally I watched, she placed the coolest and sharpest four to four shot. Not only was it strategically placed but it was powerful! Her approach was explosive, her arm swing was quick, and she consistently gave her a setter a reliable option when the team needed it. She truly dominated the net!     Wings' presence was not only felt in the front row but from behind the service line. She ripped a few deep float serves that forced overpasses. As I watched her serve, you could really tell that she was serving with a purpose every single time. In the front row, she did a fantastic job connecting with her setter. She dominated on the gap and would also draw the block with her many times allowing her teammates to put the ball away. Wings' also showed a lot of quick transitions and disciplined blocking footwork!    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-style-default"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/08/Sky-High-17-Black-3-edited.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-1015687" /></figure>      Vrbancic's defensive consistency was one of the biggest reasons her team stayed in system. She literally dimed almost every pass that I watched her touch. She also covered an incredible amount of the court, reading hitters and making difficult digs look easy. One of her most impressive plays came when she sprinted into the seam to dig a hard-driven attack, delivering a perfect pass to setter, and then was right underneath the attack covering her. Vrbancic truly embodies every quality of defensive leader.     Linnane did a fantastic job on the right side. She closed blocks well and took away sharp cross-court angles. Offensively she made clever decision against bigger blocks. On one critical point, she sold the cross-court attack with her approach and arm swing before making a last-second adjustment, softly rolling the ball just over the block for crucial point. Her ability to disguise her shot and recognize the defense is truly top notch!    I can't wait to see what this group accomplishes! This group is undoubtedly one to keep an eye on as they enter their senior year. They have all the pieces to lead their high school programs to success this season!
