The Future is Here – Dallas Up Next Top Performers Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back!&nbsp; We had a big event that was held at the Courtside Sports Center on August 8^th.&nbsp; The Dallas Up Next showcase for the middle school classes was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Her reads at the Dallas Up Next Showcase were ahead of what you typically see at this age and she was consistently in position before the ball left the attacker's hand. She competed with a quiet intensity that kept the back row organized and her teammates connected across every segment of the event. Court coaches noticed early and they mentioned her name to me multiple times so I kept coming back to watch her throughout the scrimmage competition. What I noticed was a young lady who was enjoying her time on and off of the court with teammates she just met.&nbsp; We are very proud of her and will be watching her progress over the years. At 5'9" in the class of 2031 she is one of the more physically imposing young right side hitters in this group and she carried that frame with genuine athleticism throughout the showcase. Her net engagement drew attention from court coaches early in the day and the way she attacked from the right pin showed a player who already understands how to use her length rather than just occupy the position with it. She competed hard from the opening drill through the final scrimmage and communicated with the players around her in a way that made her side of the net feel connected. Oklahoma PEAK develops players at a high level and it showed in the habits and competitive instincts she brought to Carrollton. At 5'8" as a class of 2031 outside hitter she has the frame that evaluators notice and the work ethic to match it. Her approach timing was one of the cleaner ones on the floor at the Dallas Up Next Showcase and she attacked with purpose rather than just swinging and hoping. She stayed engaged in serve receive and competed defensively in the back row with the same effort she brought to the front row. Court coaches appreciated the consistency she showed throughout the entire session and the way she carried herself between points when things did not go her way reflected a competitive character that shows up in the best players at any age.
