The Future Is Here: Names of the 2030 Rankings

While this group is still young, the skill, game experience, and court IQ we are already seeing is impressive. Many are competing at a high level in both club and high school volleyball, and they are only beginning to scratch the surface of what they can become. She doesn't waste steps or make many false moves, with her first step typically taking her in the direction of the ball. She reads attackers well, moves effectively to get herself into position, and recognizes when to come forward to pick up tips and off speed shots. McNeal also does a good job of staying out from behind the block and putting herself in the right defensive position. She tracks the ball extremely well, making her highly effective on out of system swings and from the right side, where she can track the ball over her shoulder and put together a quality attack with a ton of heat. Thun is definitely one to keep an eye on, especially after earning a varsity spot as a freshman at highly regarded Southwest Christian while also competing for Northern Lights. She quickly adjusted to the faster pace of high school volleyball, while her club experience has continued to push her development. Olness moves well and has a good understanding of spacing, knowing how to stay out of her setter's way while running both in front and behind to make herself available offensively. She can also attack effectively from the right side, adding another layer of versatility to her game. She has a big, powerful swing that she isn't afraid to unleash, but she also sees the block well and understands when a push, roll shot, or change of speed is the better option. That ability to mix up her attack makes her difficult to defend. Gedde also brings a strong serve and is efficient in serve receive, giving her the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. She already has impressive range as an attacker, with the ability to hit sharp cross or turn the ball down the line depending on what the block gives her. She does a good job of seeing what is in front of her and varying her attack rather than relying on the same shot. Guy is also putting in the work defensively and in serve receive as she continues developing into a strong six rotation player. She transitions quickly off the net, moves well, and works hard to make herself available as an attacker. Her athleticism also shows as she covers a lot of court and can get to just about everything sent her way.
