Tournament of the Week: Week 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is officially week 2 and lots of games/tournaments are locked in. This weekend is super important in terms of the initial rankings. Those will be getting released roughly Monday the 24th. Let's take a look at a tournament that has a ton of great players and plenty of teams that could win the championship.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pool A: Mustang, Norman, Lawton Mac and Guthrie.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pool B: Carl Albert, Altus, Stillwater, and Putnam City North.<br><br>This is a very interesting tournament. It is a mix of 5A and 6A teams, most of which will likely be ranked next week. Where that is, may depend heavily on this tournament. Norman may be the obvious pick to win but all sorts of landmines lie ahead. Stillwater is pretty young but very talented. Altus, CA and Mac are all likely to be top 10 teams in class 5A, which of them come out ranked highest. We will have more light on just how good PCN and Mustang are after this. Guthrie is a new program but great proving grounds to showcase how far they have come.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Players to Watch:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='903043' first='Prentiss' last='Martin']- DS for Stillwater. With the graduation of Taylor Rattay, the libero position seems to have been claimed by a young gun. She can fly around and make some really tough digs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hayden Castillo- Outside Hitter for Altus. She brings a ton of athleticism to the floor. She is a swiss army knife that can play just about any position in the front row. Her and her team have high hopes for the season, look for this to be a huge resume building weekend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>London Wilson and [player_tooltip player_id='904397' first='Tess' last='Proper']- Setter/Right Side and Setter/Outside. Frankly they both can do just about everything. Oh yeah, they are both only FRESHMAN. London was voted all tournament last weekend, will she go 2-2?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='737518' first='Brianni' last='Kimbro']- Middle Blocker for Lawton Mac. She is healed up and ready to get back to being a force to be reckoned with. She is a problem for opposing teams and someone you can not afford to not block. She recently committed to Wichita State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='955438' first='Paislee' last='Wilson']- Outside Hitter for Mustang. She was also voted all tournament this past weekend. She has a ton of range as a hitter and puts up a formidable block.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='839815' first='Nyla' last='Patterson']- Right Side Hitter for Stilwlater. She has really brought a new layer to the Pioneer offense. She helps spread the offense from pin to pin.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you have a free weekend and love volleyball, this is definitely a great tournament to attend. There are so many different ways this tournament could shake out, we are not even going to take a stab at how it will finish.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Other tournaments to consider checking out this weekend are Lincoln Christian, Broken Arrow, Salina, Sapulpa, Union.
