Defensive Dandies Dominating Varsity From The Class Of 2030

In this author's opinion, there is no such thing as too much early attention, especially when it highlights the level of talent in the Hoosier State. A hidden gem of a defender, she's already owning the special jersey by reading and reacting with the best of them as a left-back defender. She's also adept at locating the second ball for her hitters that becomes quite hittable for them—-a trait that usually takes YEARS to perfect. Every team requires a kid that will do the dirty work and hit the floor to cover her teammates' lack of range, and Miss Maudlin fits that bill completely. Receive serve? Check. Defend hard-driven attacks? Addison to the rescue. How about behind the base line? Even if she doesn't score points, she's not just “putting a ball in play”, she's trying to keep the other team out-of-system. But the problem she has is a GOOD problem; she dominates every sport she's in, making her choice for next-level athletics wide open. Being part of basketball AND track to go along with an already strong volleyball background allows Laila to be one of the more athletic kids to ever come out of Hebron, and still has multiple years to go before she sets (and resets) all of the records in all three sports. Is she a solid libero? Absolutely. Lightning-quick with her feet and always active vocally, Ella is THAT girl that coaches need to keep the ball alive regularly. Her ability to chase down balls—-both in- and out-of-system—-keeps her Bishop Noll squad in the win column more often than not, and she still has almost four years remaining in her career. Being part of Epic United is also a plus, as that training she's receiving will give her no choice but the ability to be THAT much better each and every day.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
