San Antonio 5A Preseason Standouts

<p>Texas Volleyball is completely underway and these high school athletes are not disappointing. There has been a lot of good volleyball to see in San Antonio this preseason, with glimpses of playoff contenders that have fans on the edge of their seats. With so much of the season ahead, here's a sneak peek at players you cannot miss in districts of 5A. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">6 Rotation Standouts</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Teagan Walker, a 6 rotation freshman S/RS for Smithson Valley is bringing it! She can serve, maintain a quick tempo at the net, and put the ball down. Her athleticism is on full display during play as she sticks to her fundamentals and precise footwork, she does not miss a play. With confidence from her teammates she has a great connection with her hitters, delivering decisive and effective sets to keep the momentum on her side of the court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Aubrielle Cano, a fearless 6 rotation Ds/L for McCollum High. At first glance, you would not see a hitter. But when she gets to the net her aggressive and all out play continues to lead her team's energy and effectiveness. She constantly communicates throughout the game and ensures her side of the court is not quiet. Aubrielle covers the court with efficiency from the back row and makes herself an is not afraid to swing from anywhere on the court, giving her team the confidence of having a consistent scoring option.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Brienn Brown, a dominant 6 rotation outside for Smithson Valley, who pays attention to detail, making all the difference in her game. A fundamentally sound player, keeping her feet behind the ball at all times and maintaining consistent end efficient footwork sets her apart throughout play. Utilizing impressive athleticism to deliver precise plays shines a light on her IQ for the game. Being a consistent threat from all over the court is giving her team an advantage early, they are clearly captilizing on.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Effective Rotation Standouts</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Bella Kothmann, a 2028 middle blocker for New Braunfels, bringing the excitement back to the middle position. Doing the hard job of staying aggressive and explosive all game long. Throwing her feet to the ball and to close the blocks, clearly having a knack for timing on the ball. Bella, makes she is heard and considered a threat across the net from any opponent. A strong middle to pull blocks and put the ball down consistently, makes for a good head start into regular season play. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Mia Moshier, a sophomore outside hitter for Alamo Heights, has made her stamp on the season early. Capitalizing on her outstanding ball control, she has shown the ability to hit the hard shots both in strength and court position. Mia has done the work to be an offensive threat from across the net and a difficult stop for blockers with her effective ball placement and strong swing. Moving forward in the season she will, no doubt, continue to be a hard stop and a player to plan ahead for.</p>
