She is someone who can carry the load on offense for her team but can also help contribute in other ways. Operating in a 5-1 has taken her development as a setter to another level, allowing her to build consistency in her delivery and put the ball in excellent locations for her hitters to terminate. She also has the range and mobility to get her hands on nearly every ball, making her an active presence in every phase of the game. She also is athletic enough to be a force at the net with her ability to score and block as well. A setter who can set, hit, and block is tougher to find these days and since Marcella does them all to a high level it made her a easy pick as big time riser.

Maja was someone who really impressed us at our clinic this year and has continued to do so this fall and is now ranked 32 after over a 15 position jump from last rankings. She is someone who can play multiple positions and can do so to a high level. One of her biggest assets is her ability to block and take up space at the net. She has a good vertical and with her long reach she takes up a lot of angles and shots away from opposing hitters. She is someone who can always contribute with her defense as her offensive game continues to make big strides. On offense that same reach and ability showcases itself when she is taking big rips at the ball to beat opposing blocks and using her range to hit the deep corners. Overall Maja is someone who is continues to make big strides and continues to showcase top end talent. What out for her during club season to be a dominate player for her team.

Another player jumping up over 15 spots we see Nellie coming in at #35 this go around. Nellie is someone who can play all 6 rotations as a pin hitter and really shines as an offensive force. Her attacking approach, shot selection, and ability to recognize the block makes her a tough pin to stop. She can generate a lot of pace and power behind her swing, and can score points in bunches when her team needs it. Her movement as a hitter also translate well to her ability to pass and play defense as she moves very well during that aspect of the game and keeps her team in system when she is passing the ball. She is someone who every time we see her, whether in club or school, seems to impress and do well in her game play. Keep an eye on Nellie as we head into the club season this year as someone who could make another big time jump with her ability to be a dominate 6 rotational pin hitter.

Jumping almost 75 spots we have Lainey who has really come onto the scene this school season with her game play. Over at Glendale Prep she has really been able to showcase her game play and is someone who has a lot of potential when it comes to the middle position. She is a force on offense, averaging over 2.8 kills per set and kill at a rate of 44%. She can run the full arsenal of offense, whether a set with tempo in front of behind the setter. She really has the full package with her offensive game but also does well with her ability to hit to certain locations on the floor and taking what the defense gives her. She does well with her defense as well, being a good blocker and moving well from pin to pin to get quality touches on the ball. Can't wait to see how Lainey continues this momentum as we head into club season, she has the chance to make another big jump with another strong season.

Jumping almost 30 spots is Kaydence who is really shinning this year at Valley Christian being the libero. She is currently 2nd in 3A in digs and is averaging 4.6 per set. She really has had a strong school season and seems to be getting better each and every week. Her ability to control first contact, cover ground defensively, and consistently put her team in system has stood out throughout the season. She has shown impressive growth in her reads, allowing her to get into position early and make difficult plays look routine. With her serve receive platform becoming increasingly reliable and her defensive instincts continuing to develop she has a case to be the top libero in 3A, and one of the top 2029 at the position moving forward. Kaydence has made a strong case for a significant rise in the rankings and could make another leap in the next go around as well.

Another libero who made a big jump in our rankings is Malia over at Arcadia. Malia he has demonstrated an ability to stay composed in serve receive, handle serving pressure, and make key defensive plays when rallies are on the line. Her willingness to take responsibility for first contact, combined with her ability to read opposing hitters and keep difficult balls playable, has made her a valuable presence in the back row. Malia's consistency and defensive impact have helped her stand out this fall and has helped Arcadia make a big turn around to a top 8 ranking in 4A. She had a great club season and really has carried that momentum into the school season. She has the technique, skills, and ability to continue to make strides this club season to make another big time jump when we update rankings next time.

Basha is having a really good season this year, and a number of players are really starting to show some potential as a top end player. Marlei is no different for the Bears and is really come a long ways this season and will hope to continue to showcase herself as we head into playoffs. One thing about her game that standouts out and help with her rise is she has the ability to generate pressure on the opposing defense with her attacking, using her arm swing and shot selection to find ways to score against different defensive looks. Next, she impacts the game beyond just putting balls away, as her ability to contribute in serve receive and transition into offense adds value to her overall game to make her a 6 rotational pin at times. She has the ability and talent to be a 6 row player as she continues to make big strides. Overall, she has did well during club season and has continued that momentum into the fall season which lead to a big jump in the rankings.

The school season is just getting started, and we can't wait to continue following Arizona athletes and programs throughout the fall!
