2029 Right-Side Rankings: Top Prospects for Your Board
In this article:
When college recruiters evaluate right-side prospects, they aren't just looking for a body to stand on the right antenna. They want opposites who can set a hard wall against the opponent's primary outside, hit out-of-system high balls, and bring real offensive balance to the floor.
In North Dakota's Class of 2029, the right pin talent has taken a massive leap forward. From top-tier lefty cannons to versatile 6-2 setter/opposites, these seven players prove right-side play in the state has college-level upside.
Here are my court-side scouting notes on the top 2029 right pins you need on your board right now.

Vivien didn't just crawl into the top five! She's the undisputed #1 right-side prospect in North Dakota's sophomore class. If your program doesn't have her tagged on your watchlist yet, write her name down immediately. College coaches are already tracking her, and for good reason. A physical lefty on the right pin is pure gold at the next level, but Vivien brings way more than just a preferred hand. She explodes out of her approach and is absolutely lethal if an opposing block leaves her single. Leave her unblocked, and she will make the defense pay every single time. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
Her off-season reps with ND Elite raised her court IQ to another level. She's reading defensive shifts faster, mixing up her speeds, and attacking sharper angles than she was six months ago.
- The Verdict: High-major ceiling. A physical, high-IQ lefty pin who turns broken plays into points and projects as an elite college scorer.

Ada offers the rare hybrid utility coaches scramble to find for a 6-2 system. She isn't just a right-side hitter who can set in a pinch. She operates at a high level in both roles. As a hitter, she uses her setting vision to take high-ball contact and push fast tempo to deep-court corners. When she runs the back row, her size at the tape gives her team a huge defensive blocking advantage against opposing outsides. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
(Recruiting note: Prime target for programs looking for a physical 6-2 setter/opposite option).

is a right-side hitter who can make life difficult for opposing outsides. I really like what she brings defensively at the net. She gets her hands over early, closes off hitting angles, and forces hitters to adjust where they put the ball. She's especially effective at taking away that hard cross-court swing. But Maya isn't just contributing with her block. She does an impressive job getting off the net and getting herself ready to attack. Her footwork lets her make that transition quickly, which is something I watch for in right-side hitters. Having a player who can slow down an opponent's top hitter and still be an offensive threat is a big advantage. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
- Bottom Line: Klabo brings a strong block, good transition footwork, and the ability to make opposing hitters change their shots. She's a right side I'd want college coaches to have on their radar.

Finley swings with a fast, aggressive arm from Zone 2. Many young opposites struggle to hit line clean, but Finley turns that sideline seam into her main weapon. She catches the ball out in front, drives high-velocity heat right down the tape, and forces back-row defenders into late, awkward platform adjustments. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
- Scout Take: A pure point producer on the right pin who rips line clean and forces opposing defensive coordinators to adjust their base defense.

doesn't panic or swing into the block, she stays tall, catches the ball at its peak, and rolls deep to Zone 5. Her topspin keeps back-row defenders pushed to the end line. She makes very few unforced errors on tape, even when she's forced to swing against a set double block. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
- Scout Note: Smart, low-mistake right-side player. Doesn't give away free points when sets get out of system.

Braelyn rounds out this group as a smart, crafty scorer. When passes drift tight to the tape or floats off-target, she doesn't panic or hit into the net. She uses the block's hands to tool balls out of bounds or drops soft roll shots right into the donut behind closing defenders. She's the kind of right pin who quietly puts up double-digit kills every match just by outsmarting the defense. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
- Bottom Line: High-IQ attacker who knows how to tool hands, score out of system, and manufacture kills without needing perfect sets.
