One Last Run: Seniors Making Their Mark

As the regular season comes to a close and the playoffs get underway, seniors across Minnesota are making sure their final high school volleyball season is one to remember. From powerful attackers and dominant defenders to setters running the offense, these athletes have stepped up and delivered when their teams need them most. Many have spent years developing their skills, gaining experience, and becoming leaders on the court, and that hard work is showing as postseason play begins. With every match carrying more weight and the stakes getting higher, these seniors are looking to keep their seasons alive and finish their prep careers on a high note. Here's a look at some of the seniors who have been leaving their mark on the court this fall. Raasch has been a leader on the court this season and her hard work is definitely paying off. The senior has racked up 187 kills and 42 blocks, helping her team to an 11-15 record and the No. 7 seed in Section 2AA. She is a quick, powerful attacker who can terminate to either corner of the court with confidence. Her ability to move laterally along the net also makes her a strong blocking presence, allowing her to make an impact on both sides of the net.     McKee has been a standout for St. Croix Lutheran this season, proving to be a versatile, all around player who can make an impact in just about every aspect of the game. She has racked up an impressive 305 kills, averaging 4.4 kills per set, along with 30 aces, 17 blocks, and 224 digs while also handling 275 serve receptions. Whether she is putting balls away at the net, holding down the back row, or taking on a big role in serve receive, McKee has shown she can do a little bit of everything. Her ability to contribute in all six rotations has made her a valuable part of the team's success this season.     Harsh has been running the court for Southwest Christian this season and doing an outstanding job. The senior floor general has stepped into the starting setter role and made an immediate impact, racking up 790 assists while averaging an impressive 9.9 assists per set. She has also contributed 132 digs and 26 aces, showing she can make plays beyond setting up the offense. Her ability to distribute the ball, keep the offense moving, and lead her team has been a big part of Southwest Christian's success this fall. With a 20-7 record and the No. 1 ranking in Class AA, Harsh has proven she can run a high powered offense and has her team in a great position heading into postseason play.     Pizinger is a middle who knows how to make herself available and effective in the front row. She transitions well off the net, runs routes behind the setter, and does a great job finding open court when attacking. Her movement and ability to adjust make her a reliable option in the offense, whether she is attacking in front of or behind the setter. This season, she has put together an impressive .350 hitting percentage with 199 kills, averaging 2.8 kills per set.     Seeing significant court time this season, pin hitter Gore has made the most of every opportunity. She has racked up 193 kills, averaging 2.6 kills per set, and has proven to be a dynamic attacking threat. Gore has an impressive vertical and a powerful arm swing that allows her to get up and over the block with ease. She can rip the ball down the line, attack with power from different angles, and impressively terminate when given the opportunity. Her explosiveness and ability to put balls away have made her an exciting player to watch this season.
