The time is here; we are finally finishing up the regular season. For some, this is the last week of conference play; for others, it's the first round of the conference tournament. And at this point, everyone is trying to go out with a bang and build momentum as they head into the postseason. Of course, these final two weeks will bring some great matchups and also give us a good look at what the postseason might bring.

Dallas Center-Grimes vs. Norwalk

This is a tight matchup between #2 (5A) DCG and #2 (4A) Norwalk. Both teams have a lot to be proud of this season and have some insane talent within their squads. Although DCG is at the top of the conference, Norwalk isn't too far behind, and this could be the game where they tie it up. I'm going to go with Dallas Center-Grimes to win this game. If you want to check out this matchup, you can watch them play on Tuesday at 7:15 @ Norwalk.

Embry Dupont has been a consistent and reliable scorer for Norwalk this season. Dupont contributes with smart and powerful shots mixed with scrappy defense and a stable block. She performs exceptionally well under pressure and does an amazing job of playing her part.

Marion vs. Mount Vernon

I am expecting this to be a pretty solid matchup. Marion hasn't had the best turnouts in some of their more recent games, but they're not a team to count out. The Wolves have had some glimpses of really good volleyball throughout the season. When they really show up, they are indestructible. Mount Vernon has had a fairly successful season so far, but I also think Marion has put themselves up against much tougher competition. This game could truly go either way, but I'm expecting Marion to come away with the win. If you want to catch these teams in action, you can watch them on Tuesday at 7:30 @ Mount Vernon.

[player_tooltip player_id='773029' first='Brynlee' last='Bettcher'] is one of the more powerful hitters on the Mount Vernon squad. She swings with next-level confidence and plays fearlessly. She knows that she is looked up to by many of her teammates and has done a fantastic job of leading them through tough competition so far this season.

Kuemper vs. Van Meter

Up next, we have two teams that have been trying hard to work their way up in the 3A rankings. Although Kuemper isn't the most powerful offensive team, they are extremely smart at the net and scrappy on defense. Van Meter has shown an incredibly strong serving game and a powerful block. Both groups play clean volleyball and have their own strengths, so this will be an interesting one to watch. These two teams will be facing off on Thursday at 5:30 @ Van Meter.

Western Christian vs. Boyden-Hull

Although I'm thinking Western Christian will win this match, it should be a good one to watch. The Wolfpack has done exceptionally well this season, even taking down some of the top-ranked teams in 5A. Their extremely tough schedule has really put them in a great position going into the postseason. They've already seen the best of the best and proven that they can hang, so this match should be fairly easy for them. However, Boyden-Hull isn't going to go down without a fight. They've had a pretty normal schedule and has gotten the job done for the most part. They're right at the top of 1A and aren't looking to move anytime soon. The Wolfpack and the Comets are going to be competing onTuesday at 7 @ Boyden-Hull

[player_tooltip player_id='493978' first='Elsie' last='Hoegh'] is another strong outside hitter who brings a powerful presence to the net. Hoegh has phenomenal range and has a whip of a swing. She doesn't always use her speed and power to get the job done; she reads her block and takes shots that are hard for defenders to get to.

Ballard vs. North Polk

Lastly, we have my highlight match, which is Ballard vs. North Polk. Both of these teams are looking to win their conference as well as move up in the 4A rankings. Although North Polk is ahead, Ballard is close behind and could very well come out on top. North Polk has been looking very well and put together, which is why I think they are going to come away with this win. North Polk and Ballard will be competing on Tuesday at 7 at North Polk.

[player_tooltip player_id='490006' first='Harley' last='Askelsen'] has been a major contributor to Ballard's success in more ways than one. Askelsen has gotten the job done at the net, leads her team in blocks, and has racked up a decent number of kills as well. You can tell she is extremely disciplined, especially when it comes to her blocking. She has great timing and moves exceptionally well all across the net, making her block a tough one to hit around.
