Recruiting Radar: Setters Running Elite offenses

Setters are the engine behind an offense, and these players have been running the show for their teams this fall. From delivering consistent balls to making smart decisions in crucial moments, they continue to find ways to keep opposing defenses off balance. Here are some Colorado setters who have caught our attention with the way they are commanding their offenses. Sydney Corr might be a young setter, but she plays with an elite ball knowledge. Corr is dynamic and crafty, knowing who to feed in crucial moments while also recognizing when to mix in an offensive dump of her own. She is a strong 5-1 setter who contributes in both the front and back row as a solid blocker and defender. Corr does a great job getting her hands on out of system balls, and her consistent footwork and technical ability allow her to deliver quality sets even off difficult passes. Lila Hannemann is running the show for Lutheran, putting up big time numbers while leading one of the top offenses this fall. Hannemann plays with confidence and a high volleyball IQ, consistently putting her hitters in great positions to score from anywhere on the court. She distributes the ball efficiently and does a great job keeping opposing defenses guessing. Hannemann also contributes defensively and behind the service line, bringing an impressive all around presence to the floor. Sydney Baseggio is one of the top setters in 3A and continues to produce at a high level this fall. She has made major strides over the last couple of seasons and has developed into one of the core leaders for this Sterling team. Baseggio does a great job out of system, working hard to get her hands on nearly every ball while still giving her hitters opportunities to score. She combines great location with consistency, strong communication, and a high level understanding of how to run an offense. Harper Kellner is having a standout season for Niwot, helping lead the offense and consistently putting her hitters in great positions to score. Kellner has a knack for reversing the flow of the offense and keeping opposing defenses off balance with her decision making. She brings strong leadership, communication, and a high volleyball IQ to the court. Kellner remains uncommitted but has the all around game and consistency to be a valuable asset at the next level. Harper Thompson is an under the radar setter who continues to show a lot of potential. Thompson has a great touch on the ball and consistently puts her hitters in good positions to score. She worked hard this offseason to improve her ability to get her hands on out of system balls, and that work has been paying off on the court. Thompson has a high volleyball IQ, understands the game well, and does a great job running her offense with consistency.
