Since it is almost time for Halloween, these volleyball players have been "killin it" on the court all season long. If you have not heard of these junior attackers, please put their name on your list of players to recruit. They entered their junior year of high school with one mission…to lead their team to victory with some big kills at the net. Texas is arguably one of the best offensive states in the nation and if you are leading the thousands of players here in any statistical category, that says a lot. Let's take a look at the following junior kill leaders from the Lone Star State.

No junior in Texas has more kills than [player_tooltip player_id='826695' first='Rylan' last='Newbrough']. She has 619 kills through 114 sets and is averaging 5.4 per set. She is only 5'9" but plays much bigger thanks to a 9'9" approach jump. Her speed is real too and she was an area champion in the 100 meters as a freshman. That burst shows up in her approach, where she gets to the ball early and attacks before the block can set. She has also spent time in the middle and it shows in how comfortable she is hitting quick tempo and closing on the block. Her block jump makes her a problem at the net for opposing attackers and she piled up 64 total blocks last season. None of this is new. As a sophomore she put down 599 kills and hit .307 on her way to 4A All-State honors. She was a key piece of a district title team that reached the regional semifinals. She was District Newcomer of the Year the season before that, so her climb has been steady from day one. Programs that value explosiveness over height should circle her name. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

Middle blockers are not supposed to lead their class in kills. [player_tooltip player_id='1053157' first='Carinne' last='Bouie'] never got that memo. She sits second among Texas juniors with 501 kills and is finishing 46.3 percent of her swings. She hit .322 through the first half of the season, which is excellent for the volume she carries. Her best work has come in long matches. The three sport stud hammered 32 kills in a five set win over Beaumont United and added 26 more in a five set battle with Nederland. What separates her is everything else she does. She digs balls like a back row player and had already passed 200 assists by the middle of the season. She is also a weapon from the end line with more than 30 aces. At the net she reads the setter well and has been a steady presence on the block. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

Liberty Hill and Georgetown met early this season as two top five teams in the state and [player_tooltip player_id='804315' first='Hannah' last='Griffin'] decided it with 20 kills. That is what she does for a team that has piled up more than 35 wins. The 6'0" outside ranks third among Texas juniors with 489 kills and is finishing 45.2 percent of her attacks. She swings with a long and fluid arm and takes the ball high at the peak of her jump. She has been a steady producer during a long winning streak and posted 14 kills with nine digs in wins over both Legacy Ranch and University. She can also take over a match from the service line. In a September win at University she ripped 10 aces. Griffin has already played on a big stage and put up 14 kills in last year's 5A regional final against Cedar Park. She was also named an Austin area Athlete of the Week last fall. That experience should serve her well as she chases a deep run this fall. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.
