[player_tooltip player_id='844626' first='Sophia' last='Hummel'] brings plenty of firepower to the 2027 class. The OH/RS has the reach and contact point to create problems for a block, especially when she gets moving in transition. What stands out is how naturally Hummel flows into her approach. She can take her time, stay under control, and still build into a powerful attack. Once she gets into the air, she has plenty of options. Hummel can find the deep corner, work around the block, or take advantage of her high contact point. That reach gives her access to shots that are tough for defenders to handle. Plus, she does not need to rush her transition to create pressure. Her ability to stay composed while still attacking aggressively makes Hummel a fun name to watch in the 2027 class!

[player_tooltip player_id='883372' first='Michaela' last='Running Wolf'] is a 2028 name who has been flying a little under the radar, but that is changing. Her game has the type of potential that could make her a very interesting recruit to follow. Running Wolf has a smooth, beach-style approach that helps her create lift and get into a strong contact position. Just as importantly, her mechanics give her a solid foundation to keep building. Her volleyball IQ adds another layer. Running Wolf can recognize different ways to attack instead of relying on one swing. She can challenge high hands, turn the line, use a toolbox shot, or find the deep corner. That variety makes her difficult to predict. Now, she is officially on the Prep Dig Colorado radar, and we will be watching to see where this 2028 hitter goes next!

[player_tooltip player_id='1057172' first='Sophia' last='Da Silva'] brings serious power to the 2029 class. The OH has a heavy arm that can make her a tricky matchup for opposing blocks. However, her power is only part of what makes her dangerous in transition. Da Silva also has a strong feel for the game and knows how to use the block to her advantage. She can take the hands when they are available, change her shot, or find another opening in the defense. That volleyball IQ gives her plenty of options once she gets into her approach. Rather than relying on one type of swing, Da Silva can read the block and make a smart attacking choice. Her ability to combine a heavy arm with that kind of awareness makes her a tough hitter to defend. As she continues to develop, there is a ton of potential in this 2029 powerhouse. Da Silva is definitely a name we will be keeping on the radar!

[player_tooltip player_id='1052718' first='Piper' last='Hutton'] is already getting varsity reps as a freshman, and she is using those opportunities to learn. The 2030 hitter is still figuring out the high school game, but there are already some fun pieces to her attack. Hutton has a confident approach that makes it look like she expects the ball to work. She stays calm as she moves into her attack, which can be tough to teach at such a young age. Even more exciting, she is already experimenting with difficult shots. Instead of simply swinging straight through the ball, Hutton is testing different options and finding success with them. That willingness to try, learn, and adjust is a great sign for her development. As she continues getting varsity experience, it will be fun to watch her transition game become even more polished.

[player_tooltip player_id='1019369' first='Jaine' last='Kendall'] brings a ton of eagerness to the 2031 class. She is a young player who looks ready to keep learning, competing, and chasing her goals. One of the first things that stands out is her footwork. Kendall already has a nice feel for getting her feet moving into the play, which is an important foundation for transition attacking. She does not simply wait for the ball to come her way. Instead, she stays active and looks ready to move whenever the play changes. That kind of movement can make a huge difference as her game continues to develop. For a young athlete, that willingness to stay involved is exciting. Kendall is still early in her volleyball journey, but the foundation is there, and we are excited to keep watching her grow!

Transition Attack Is Always Developing

The common thread is simple: get moving, stay ready, and make the most of the next contact. Transition does not have to look perfect. Instead, it should give a hitter a chance to create something with the ball.

As these athletes continue developing, their ability to turn transition into offense will be another piece to watch!
