Class AA State Tournament Bound Players to Watch

While I am incredibly happy for all three programs, I am especially excited for Minnewaska Area. After putting together a nearly perfect season last year, only to suffer a heartbreaking loss in the section finals, seeing them earn a trip to state this time around makes it that much sweeter. All three teams have worked hard to get to this point, and we can't wait to see what they bring to the court against some of the best competition in Minnesota. Averaging an impressive 6.4 kills per set while hitting .250, she has been a major offensive weapon for her team. What stands out about Green is her ability to make something happen with just about any ball sent her way, even when she has limited space or little time to transition. She excels at attacking out of system, using her athleticism and court vision to turn difficult situations into points. With a quick arm and the ability to put the ball away, she is a tough matchup for opposing defenses. She does an excellent job finding the seam, attacking over the block, and using her athleticism to create scoring opportunities. She is just as dangerous out of the back row, where she can unleash a powerful attack, score points, and get her team out of tough rotations. She is such a fun middle to watch because she is constantly on the move, working hard to make herself available and always wanting the ball. I love her energy and the way she stays involved in the offense, whether she is running a quick attack, transitioning off the net, or finding ways to create opportunities for her setter. She is an extremely athletic and explosive player. She brings a ton of power to her attack and isn't afraid to take a big swing. Her numbers this season speak for themselves. Averaging 5.4 kills per set while hitting an impressive .378 is no small feat. Putting up that kind of offensive production while maintaining such a high hitting percentage shows just how effective she is at putting the ball away. Averaging an impressive 6.4 digs per set, along with 35 aces and 55 assists, she has been a steady presence in the backcourt. She does a solid job anchoring the defense, tracking down balls, and giving her team opportunities to turn defensive plays into offensive attacks. Her ability to cover the court and consistently get a touch on tough balls has made her a valuable part of Southwest Christian's success this season.
