Southwest Michigan’s Star Standouts in 2026, Part 1

She's got picturesque form on her attacks and the ball just flies off her hand. She's also a fierce blocker that has put up over 110 on the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='919979' first='Alexis' last='Crawford'], So. S/RS Gull Lake</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Crawford is one of two really talented setters playing for Gull Lake. Crawford is quick-thinking and plays at a high level on her instincts alone. She's able to see the court really well and has the ability to set up her teammates for a big swing, or finish the point herself when needed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='782946' first='Catie' last='Jilek'], So. S Portage Central</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jilek just has a real natural flow to her play that makes things seem effortless for her offense at times. She's approached 1,000 assists on the season while playing against the best teams in the state on a consistent basis. Jilek is definitely among those setting the bar for 2029 setters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='776808' first='Brynn' last='Johnson'], So. OH Marshall</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the most productive players in the state, Johnson has continued to impress in her sophomore season. She's at nearly 600 kills this season and already over 1,300 for her prep career. That's to go along with over 1,000 digs and 110 aces. Johnson just does it all on the floor and does it with ease.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='777145' first='Andersyn' last='King'], So. S Harper Creek</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another standout sophomore setter in SW Michigan is King. She's approaching 1,200 assists this fall and has great touch on her sets that have given her hitters the ability to really unload on the ball. King has grown into more of a leader this year and is going to be a big asset in the years ahead.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='825043' first='Ella' last='Laskowski'], Sr. OH Edwardsburg</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Laskowski is definitely proving she's one of the steadiest hitters in the state for how she has played in recent years. She's definitely a player the Eddies can rely on to finish points, as she can make the smart play and also deliver a devastating kill. Laskowski has all the tools in her tookkit.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='775991' first='Sydney' last='Manning'], So. OH BC Lakeview</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Manning is another sophomore that has been playing in a lead role since she was a freshman. This fall, Manning has upped her production in all phases of the game. Her offensive game is strong, but her defensive play might even be stronger. She's already over 1,000 digs in her prep career.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523843' first='Addison' last='Naplin'], Sr. OH Vicksburg</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Naplin has been a key player for Vicksburg for years, but having arguably her best season yet as a senior. She's setting career-highs for herself in kills and digs. Naplin has been all over the court and never gives up on a play. Her ability to make a tough dig and then power through a kill always makes her a threat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
