She powers through double blocks and mixes in good off shots. King consistently goes up with a purpose when she swings. King also brings value in the back row with her defense. Smith has quick hands and does not hesitate to find hot hands in the front and back rows. Smith is good at distributing to different hitters and does not lock her arms. Her jump sets also consistently hit targets. Smith lays out to make pancake digs in addition to making the simple passes to jumpstart the offensive rhythm. Combine those two things with a great net approach leads to her getting on top of balls and hammering them to the ground. She makes a lot of things happen at the net when the spacing and timing on her routes are there. She is trying to turn into a sound six-rotation player. Bower has a quick arm swing and uses her size to control the net in different ways. Other players who have watched her admire her explosiveness. She is especially effective on go routes. Bower makes great swings from the back row. Bower gets touches on balls at the net and moves her feet well on defense. Nygaard is constantly trying to make plays on balls near her constantly laying out if needed, yet staying under control. Nygaard gets 17 Calvin in a great offensive rhythm on both serve reception and first contacts on defense. Nygaard constantly has her body aimed at targets and tries to limit steps to balls as much as possible.
