Middle blockers at the 2031 level are already starting to separate themselves with instincts that can't be taught. The players on this list are reading setters earlier, closing blocks with better timing, and getting their hands over the net to take away high-percentage swings. “They're getting better at their footwork, they're getting better at staying connected in transition, and they're becoming dependable options in quick attacks. While there is definitely a lot of growth left in them, these middle blockers are already displaying the awareness, net presence, and competitive mindset that make them exciting prospects to watch in the coming years.

[player_tooltip player_id='936520' first='Katie' last='Ryan'] has a way of getting involved in the net. Over the course of the year, I continued to observe how quickly she recognized the play's direction and how she strove to place her hands appropriately. She's active in transition, remains available for the setter, and continues to grow more confident attacking quick balls through the middle. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='985794' first='Josie' last='Marie Cogley'] plays with an aggressive mindset, evident at every point. She purposefully closes off the court, daring hitters to swing around her hands, and is not afraid to get physical at the net. Offensively, she's starting to time her approach better and finding more ways to finish points in the middle of the court. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='964315' first='Cameron' last='Amsbaugh'] continues to improve steadily every time I see her play. She moves well side to side, works hard to close the block, and competes through long rallies without taking any plays off. I like how she can quickly return to an attacking option after playing defense and maintain pressure on opposing blockers. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

Norah McCarthy is a force when she's around the net. She reads the setter well for her age, gets up off the floor quickly, and is starting to take away angles to attack with disciplined hand placement. Her timing on the attack is improving, and she's becoming a middle that teams will have to respect. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='939551' first='Ashtyn' last='Bartsch'] is one of those middles you find yourself watching a little longer each time she steps onto the court. She moves well along the net, gets into good blocking position, and continues to work on her timing for quick attacks. What stood out to me the most was how involved she still is from rally to rally. She is constantly working to get back into the play, whether it is closing a block, getting open in transition, or fighting for another touch at the net. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

It's immediately obvious that [player_tooltip player_id='939723' first='Raegin' last='Larsen'] plays with a certain physicality. She swings with confidence, attacks over the tape on blocks, and isn't afraid to challenge hitters point after point. The thing that stood out for me all season long is that she's involved in every rally, whether she's scoring in the middle or disrupting the other team's offense at the net. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
