Trending Up: 2027s Making Noise in the Rankings

Some of these athletes have been sitting on our watch list waiting for their opportunity to break through, while others are completely new to us and quickly made an impression. Then there are those we already had ranked who simply made it impossible to keep them where they were. Whether it was growth in their game, a strong club season, or simply getting more opportunities to see them compete, these 2027s earned their move up the board. She doesn't try to force things offensively, instead finds the open court and takes advantage of what the defense gives her, which helps keep her errors low. Playing club volleyball for Minnesota Select, Roell has developed into a smart and reliable attacker who knows how to score. She has a full toolbox offensively, and you never quite know what type of shot she is going to send your way. She can bring a strong attack when the opportunity is there, but she is just as comfortable mixing in a roll shot or tip to keep the defense guessing. She is a powerful attacker who can swing from either pin and is especially effective when her team is out of system. But what really stands out from Guetzlaff is how dangerous she is on the move. She does a great job turning her body to attack down the line and can come flying in for the "b" ball to also generate kills. She recently committed to Lehigh, and there is little doubt she will do great things at the next level. But before she heads off to college, we get one more prep season to watch her at Edina, where she is not only a captain, but a leader and consistent point generator. She sees the court well, tracks the ball, and has a knack for finding open space and putting the ball away. Her versatility makes her even more dangerous, as she can attack from the pins or move into the middle and score.
