2030's Bringing the Heat On Varsity

Walking onto the court as a freshman is no easy task, but the 2030 class continues to embrace the challenge. As each game has come and gone, these young athletes have continued to bring the energy, confidence, and competitive fire to the court. With just a few weeks of regular season, this group will have more opportunities to shine and make their mark on the varsity stage. The leading attacker for Cyprus is [player_tooltip player_id='948308' first='Lucy' last='Scott']. Currently, she is leading her class with 215 kills and averaging 3.1 kills per set. Although this is her first year, she holds nothing back when she gets the chance to swing. Lucy has strengthened her ability to identify the block and become terminal out of system. [player_tooltip player_id='950069' first='Sophia' last='Thorn'] enters her first year with the Sentinels, earning court time on the outside as a freshman. Her power, elevation, explosiveness, and high reach help her find kills over the top and through the block. As the season has progressed, Sophia's confidence at the net has flourished, and she has become more aggressive and controlled with her attacking choices. [player_tooltip player_id='935198' first='Alexis' last='Brant'] is one of the highest-potential middles in her class. In her first season for the American Fork Cavemen, Alexis has posted a .378 hitting percentage, ranking #7 overall, with 92 kills. She has consistent timing and spacing and ability to run a variety of sets in front and behind her setter. As a blocker, she does a great job closing seams and pushing back into the middle of the court. [player_tooltip player_id='1010850' first='Jane' last='Peterson'] has recorded 132 kills in her first season so far with Farmington. She competes with steady energy and consistent mechanics throughout the entire match. As the season has progressed, her ability to find ways to score and find ways around the defense has improved. Competing in 6A has forced her to battle against big blocks and tough servers, giving her valuable opportunities to grow as an outside. [player_tooltip player_id='1046614' first='Sophie' last='Johnson'] has positioned herself as a very dependable pin for the Titans this season. As a left-handed attacker with high contact point and consistent timing, she provides steady offense at the net. Against the Alta Hawks, Sophie did a great job getting her feet to the ball out of system and staying composed with her swings. Defensively, she helped with the overload and took solid space away at the net.
