Lehi Team Profile

Entering week 5 of the UHSAA 2026 season, the Lehi Pioneers stand at a 6-2 overall record (0- 1 in Region 3). The Pioneers compete in arguably the toughest division in the state, battling with last year's 6A state champions, Corner Canyon, Lone Peak, American Fork, and Skyridge.   Lehi has a unique situation: no seniors on its roster, led by a few returning juniors and sophomores. With a few new additions, they compete with grit and tenacity every time they step onto the court.   On Tuesday, they will travel to play American Fork 8-8 (0-1 Region 3) in their second region game of the season.    Junior [player_tooltip player_id='934743' first='Aliya' last='Shewell'] captains the Pioneers this season -- not only in title, but in responsibility. She continues to post consistent numbers, averaging 4 kills per set with a .225 hitting percentage this season so far. Her power and vision at the net have gotten stronger, and she continues to excel with the energy and competitiveness her team feeds off in big moments.     [player_tooltip player_id='941689' first='Aftyn' last='Hurst'] steps into her junior year wearing the libero jersey full-time this season. She continues to excel in her control on hard-driven attacks and poise in serve receive. She is averaging 3 digs per set, helping keep the Pioneers' defense efficient.     [player_tooltip player_id='894181' first='Laken' last='Bell'] returns to the roster as a sophomore as a stronger, pivotal piece for the Pioneers' offense. Averaging 3.5 kills per set, Laken has positioned herself as the second-leading scorer this year. She swings with more power, and her eye work at the net is quicker as a blocker and attacker.     [player_tooltip player_id='1040316' first='Paisley' last='Brems'] runs the offense for the Pioneers this season, and with her competitiveness and tenacity, she finds herself averaging 9.1 assists per set with 273 total so far this year. Paisley does a great job of locating her middles and getting her pins into great situations. In the matches I've seen her play in, Paisley does a great job of feeding the right people and keeping her offense dynamic and consistent.     As an undersized hitter, Alea does a good job utilizing the tools she has in her arsenal to her advantage. She mixes up shots and stays high through her swing to find high hands or the edges of the block. Alea is quick to get her feet to the ball and make the best play possible.     [player_tooltip player_id='1040318' first='Isabel' last='Garcia'] has found herself in great situations this year as both the DS and libero. Her speed and consistency help anchor serve receive and defense to keep the offense in system. She has a calm platform that keeps her movements controlled and base balanced.     In the match I saw junior middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='1040317' first='Lucy' last='Lowe'] play in, she posted 12 kills on 25 attempts with a .360 hitting percentage. Her timing and spacing were consistent, and she attacked wrist-away with good power. Standing at 6'2, Lucy showed she can press early and quickly, which helped shut down the outsides and slow down balls at the net.
