Texas 2027 Stock Risers in the Rankings

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The State Rankings release is here!!! We have unveiled the top 158 players in this latest publishing of the 2027 class. We have been watching the 2027 class very closely throughout the entire club &amp; high school season.  A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone's recruiting profiles.  We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects.  The following players showed us all that they deserved to be moved up in the rankings due to their individual performances. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["443012"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6abaf00f22891"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Thirty-nine digs in a single match. Ten or more digs in 59 consecutive competitive appearances. Ranked second in the nation in aces in 2025 and ninth in 2024. Back-to-back MVP, back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year, AVCA All-Region honoree, AVCA Phenom, and currently on the 2026 AVCA All-America watchlist. Every one of those numbers and recognitions belongs to a libero who stands 5'4", which means every single one of them was produced through positioning, anticipation, platform precision, and an obsessive competitive drive rather than any physical advantage. The way Benavides generates that production at that height tells scouts something specific about what is happening technically in her game. Her reads happen before the attack, not after it. Her platform shape under pace stays consistent in a way that allows her to pass with location rather than just survival. Her serve mechanics have produced national-level aces rankings in back-to-back seasons, which is not an attribute that typically gets discussed in a libero evaluation and reflects a player with a complete back row game rather than a one-tool defensive specialist. She is one of the most decorated defensive players in the 2027 class in the state of Texas. Those efficiency numbers at that level of play reflect a middle blocker and outside hitter who is not just getting touches. She is terminating rallies at an elite rate because her approach timing is right, her arm swing mechanics are generating real power from a clean contact point and her shot selection under pressure is advanced enough to avoid the defensive coverage that opposing teams try to set up against her. She earned District Newcomer of the Year honors as a freshman and committed to Oklahoma, meaning her trajectory and ceiling have already been evaluated at the highest level of the college coaching profession and the conclusion was a Big 12 scholarship offer she accepted. Tons of our scouts at Prep Dig have described her as a true game changer on both sides of the ball and one of the marquee prospects on the entire 2027 Texas list. At 6'2" with those efficiency metrics already in her career production record, the move from watch list to ranked is not a question of potential. It is acknowledgment of what she has already done. The blocking evaluation has been equally direct: she produces clean stuffs in one-on-one duels in the middle and does a very effective job closing to the pins when the hitter adjusts away from her. What separates her from the standard 6'1" middle profile is the mobility. She moves through the system with an athleticism that does not match her dimensions, which is the detail that makes her blocking not just physically imposing but positionally intelligent. The high contact point she reaches at the top of her approach generates attacking angles that defenses have to account for across the full width of the court rather than just loading the line or angle. She has been generating shoutouts from Prep Dig scouts since her first major exposure event and the body of scouting that surrounds her profile at this point makes it clear that the 2027 Texas state ranking she has now earned is only the beginning of the recognition coming her way.
