It was the place to be for any top ranked team from all corners and all divisions in the state.

There is no tougher environment to be than the one here. To make it out alive, you had to take down some heavyweights. While these athletes and their teams didn't make the cut in pool play, doesn't take away from how they were able to make an impression on Saturday. This is where the best come to play, there is no game off.

In this part, we're looking at Pool A through Pool C and the standouts within them. These were the pools with the top 3 seeds in the tournament, so the challenge was even tougher. Let's take a look at the best of the best.

[player_tooltip player_id='849862' first='Claire' last='Ryan']

[player_tooltip player_id='849862' first='Claire' last='Ryan'] - SMCC

This is a new face to the Kestrel program. After a standout freshman season last year at Huron high, [player_tooltip player_id='849862' first='Claire' last='Ryan'] made the move to SMCC and has simply thrived within their volleyball program. In all six rotations of the game, Ryan shows the fight of what has made SMCC so good in recent years. Think of names like Jessica Costlow, Olivia Beaudrie, Ryan is another one of those undersized dandies that can kill you from all areas of the court.

Isabella Caladino - SMCC

When you have a presence like this in the middle, a lot of good things can come your way. Isabella Caladino is another standout from the Kestrels. In the middle, Caladino maybe wasn't the biggest players in the gym, but she sure had a huge presence at the net. Caladino plays quite the cerebral game and it really challenges her opponents to figure out.

[player_tooltip player_id='442971' first='Brenna' last='Mirovsky'] - Oxford

She was one of the biggest names from last year's MHSAA Tournament. [player_tooltip player_id='442971' first='Brenna' last='Mirovsky'], the do-it-all player. Setter turned libero turned outside hitter. She's back with Oxford on the outside in six rotations and was absolutely electric. When Oxford was able to get Mirovsky touching more balls in the first contact, the more success they found. Nonetheless, she was always available for clutch plays in offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='611100' first='Waverly' last='Hagen'] - Ubly

Hailing from the lone Division 4 school on tap, [player_tooltip player_id='611100' first='Waverly' last='Hagen'] and the Bearcats MORE than held their own against the competition. I mean, having your first game against the No. 1 team in the state is quite the feat. Hagen fit right into the mix. At her size of 6'2, she is more than able to contend with the big guns.

Sienna Moecke - Traverse City Central

Traverse City Central may have been one of the furthest traveled teams in the field and they did not disappoint. Sienna Moecke is a shining force on the court. Moecke brings a real nice wrinkle to the court you don't usually see. As an established beach player, Moecke brought all of the shots in the book and was able to score on quite a bit with her control and vision.

[player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux']

[player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux'] - Flat Rock

There is a reason that [player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux'] was the ONLY athlete named to the All-Tournament that didn't make the gold bracket. One of the highest flying hitters in the gym, when Giroux can get ahold of the ball, there is very little anybody could do to stop it.

[player_tooltip player_id='443001' first='Zoe' last='Ryan'] - Flat Rock

[player_tooltip player_id='443001' first='Zoe' last='Ryan'] is the next part of this Flat Rock trifecta at the setter position. The Albion bound player is one of the fastest players you'll find on the court. At the source of the offense, Ryan is what really takes this team to the next level and lifts them over the hump to greatness. She was on fire on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='916026' first='Lily' last='Klein'] - Flat Rock

Rounding out the Ram Rampage, Klein at 6'3 in the middle is a formidable force to contend with. When Flat Rock can find her the ball, it is very rare that opponents can send a return back over the net. Klein looked quite comfortable in a raucous field of attackers. Not only was she a stout blocker, but in a new 6 rotation role, Klein did extremely well in the back court.

[player_tooltip player_id='939675' first='Audrey' last='Tobin'] - Lakeland

From one middle to another, [player_tooltip player_id='939675' first='Audrey' last='Tobin'] is very much the heartbeat to this Lakeland offense. When the Eagles can get Tobin the ball, the better the results. Tobin can really swing with the best of them. She is extremely comfortable on the attack in front of the setter and was able to deliver in those moments.

https://www.tiktok.com/@lshotvb/video/7698885011269012766?is_from_webapp=1u0026amp;sender_device=pcu0026amp;web_id=7621309005139035661
