These Pins can Pound the Ball. Period.

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I was recently told by the high school team I coach that saying “period” is the new way to express excitement. Every time we get a big kill they yell “period.” Now, I am not up with the new lingo the kids use; however, I do know a lot about exciting and play ending hits. There were a lot of “period” worthy swings during the Prep Dig fall tournament series and here are some of the pins who made them happen. </span></p> <h3><img class="size-medium wp-image-113453 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2020/10/IMG_4954-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></h3> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ella Demetrian - Class of 2024</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hands down one of the best athletes in her class, Ella is a huge threat at the net. She puts up massive swings and can consistently pound the ball from pin to pin. She has a fast snap and heavy hand as she powers through the ball. Ella also is a solid defender and very consistent on serve receive.</span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="81310" first="Sienna" last="Roling"] - Class of 2022</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sienna has a nasty line shot. She is hard to read and has a great vertical. When she goes up without a block it can be pretty intimidating. Her line shot is consistent and powerful. Sienna moves the ball around the court well always keeping her opponents on their toes. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="80717" first="Payton" last="Addink"] - Class of 2021 - Committed to Minnesota-Duluth</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Payton builds a ton of momentum as she takes her approach. She has speed and power, a dangerous combination for a pin hitter. Payton has an arsenal of shots to use seemingly at her disposal and can consistently bring in kills for her team. </span><img class="size-medium wp-image-113455 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2020/10/IMG_4651.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="57241" first="Brianna" last="Cantrell"] - Class of 2022</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You can’t talk about powerful pins without bringing up [player_tooltip player_id="57241" first="Brianna" last="Cantrell"]. She has an explosive approach and seems to fly through the air. Brianna doesn’t go halfway on anything. She is smart, fast, and can power through or over most blocks. Her speed and connection with her setters make her a dangerous pin on any team. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="81309" first="Britten" last="Bertagnoli"] - Class of 2022</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Though Britten is listed as a middle hitter, she was on the pin at the Pumpkin Spice Slam. She has a huge amount of power and was very impactful for her team. Britten has an explosive approach which gives her opportunities to power big kills across the net. She is an asset to her team no matter where she is hitting. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="91883" first="Jordan" last="LaScala"] - Class of 2023</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I had not had the opportunity to see Jordan play before, which is one of the reasons I love tournaments like these. Jordan excelled on defense and had picture-perfect form in the front row. Speed is the name of her game. She reads and reacts to sets quickly and can make a powerhouse play out of whatever set she is given. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Keep an eye on these pins as they continue to progress through their high school and club careers. They will do great things on the court and bring in some amazing kills for their teams. </span></p>
