First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
The first District we take a look at in the 2A class is CWAC, which is home to seven high schools and some of their players with the greatest upside are:
Grace Meirndorf Grace Meirndorf MB Prosser | 2021 State WA – Outside Hitter – Senior – Prosser
Grace Meirndorf Grace Meirndorf MB Prosser | 2021 State WA ’s main asset on a volleyball court is her offensive game. At six-foot, the outside hitter has great reach and a heavy arm, making her really difficult to be stopped by Prosser’s opponents either at the net or in the backcourt. Meirndorf has been steadily improving her other skills and her progress was noticed last season with the Mustangs, when she made the jump from being an All-League honorable mention nominee in 2018 to a first-team selection in 2019. She’s placed 15th at the prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.
Hayden Mills – Outside Hitter – Junior – Ephrata
Hayden Mills has been a reliable piece in Ephrata’s system in each of her two years she has been with the team as she received All-League team nominations in both 2018, as an honorable mention, and 2019, as a second-teamer. The 5’9” outside hitter’s game has developed accordingly over this time as her last year’s performance, in which she registered 147 kills, 27 aces, 33 blocks and 75 digs, left no doubts.
Mackenzie Kleyn – Outside Hitter – Senior – Quincy
Mackenzie Kleyn played an important role in a Quincy team that won six of its nine district matches in 2019. The 5’8” outside hitter consistently came up big for the Lady Jacks, putting up strong performances in close matches during the season and leading the team’s efforts at the net. Kleyn has been an All-League member in each of the last two seasons, moving from an honorable mention nominee in 2018 to a second-team player in 2019.
