Over the last few months, we’ve provided you a lot of information about who are the players you won’t want to miss when the high school volleyball season starts in Washington next March. First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.

For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.

The Wesco district reunites as many as 16 high schools from the 2A and 3A classes and some of their players with the greatest upside are:

[player_tooltip player_id="97074" first="Taylor" last="Pederson"] – Setter – Junior – Arlington

[player_tooltip player_id="97074" first="Taylor" last="Pederson"]’s solid game with Arlington last year cemented her as the top setter in the district, which was confirmed by her All-League first-team nomination, and one of the best in the entire division, which resulted in an All-State team honorable mention. The 5’7” prospect used her great hands to facilitate her teammates on offense, handing out 475 assists, but also helped the team in other departments with 38 aces and, most notably, 145 digs. She’s part of prepdig.com’s class of 2022 watchlist.

Jasett Smith – Outside Hitter – Junior - Snohomish

Jasett Smith was the glue that kept Snohomish together and solid during the entirety of the 2019 season. The 5’11” outside hitter has provided the Panthers with a strong presence at the net, as it was made evident by her 163 kills, but also used her great all-around game, polished by the time she spends training beach volleyball as well, to give her team a lift in other areas with 276 digs and 40 aces. Smith made it to the All-League team as a first-team selection.

[player_tooltip player_id="97099" first="Ellie" last="Lombard"] – Middle-Blocker/Right Sider – Junior – Mountlake Terrace

[player_tooltip player_id="97099" first="Ellie" last="Lombard"] has ‘potential’ written all over her and she showed in her second year of high school volleyball with Mountlake Terrace that her blocking game is as good as it gets. The 6’2” middle-blocker registered whopping 142 blocks over the season, to an insane average of 2.2 per set. Her game picked up towards the end of the season, when she registered double-digit blocking performances in six of the Hawks’ final 11 matches. She was included in prepdig.com’s class of 2022 watchlist and the key for her to raise her stock even more is to improve her hitting and serving games.
