Must See Athletes At Wisconsin Top 250
The build up to our Top 250 in Wisconsin is felt from the athletes, the coaches who will be recruiting, the court coaches helping out, our lead coach Peter Netisingha of Milwaukee Sting who has coached at Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Illinois State, and especially to our scouts at Prep Dig who will be taking notes, pictures, and video throughout the event. I’ve seen some of these athletes at major club tournaments across the country to cracker box high school gyms with no AC during a summer league or even a practice. On Saturday, we all get to be together and be grateful for a chance to do what we all love to do whether its play, coach, recruit, or write. Here are some athletes you have to make sure and watch that have a little extra zip to their game.
Ella Demetrician Ella Demetrician 6'2" | OH Appleton North | 2024 State #40 Nation WI – Appleton North – FC Elite
Class of 2024
Demetrician will be one of the top recruits throughout the Midwest in the Class of 2024. This fall she showed what she could do against varsity competition at Prep Dig Events with over 25 matches against other athletes who did not have a high school season. She is physical, athletic, a six rotation outside who can flat out score points with finesse and power. An exciting and one of the next big recruits to be on the radar in Wisconsin.
Zoe Behrendt Zoe Behrendt 5'11" | S Whitefish Bay | 2023 State #113 Nation WI – Whitefish Bay – Milwaukee Sting
Class of 2023
Behrendt is so dynamic! An all around player who can do anything on the court. In the high school season she is a dominant outside, but come club season she runs the show for Milwaukee Sting and can hit all the tempos, defend, and take the second contact to score herself. She is a gamechanger and can do so much for her side of the net.
Mariah Best Mariah Best 5'10" | S Waunakee | 2021 State WI – Waunakee – Capital Volleyball Academy
Class of 2021
An uncommitted 2021 setter who definitely has all the tools necessary to play at the next level. Best has been part of successful teams throughout high school and club and she has to be hungry to get back on the court. Waunakee was without a high school season and with limited opportunities to compete since the shutdown in March she will be a major catch at the next level. Keep her on your radar!
Monika Stevens Monika Stevens 6'0" | MB Little Chute | 2023 WI – Little Chute – FC Elite
Class of 2023
Stevens has a crazy upside. A very physical and athletic 6’1 in the middle, Stevens has quite the wingspan where she can cover a wide range along the front long as well as a heavy arm to score points. Keep her on the radar throughout this club season and see the progress she will make as the next few seasons will be fun to see her development skill wise to go along with her athleticism.
Gwen Crull Gwen Crull 6'2" | MB McFarland | 2023 State WI – McFarland – Balance
Class of 2023
Crull is another one who is extremely athletic out of the middle and is bringing quite the hunger to this event. After having a strong start to the club season, Crull has been part of a really athletic McFarland High School squad that was unable to have a fall high school season and will play this spring. She has the length, height, and ability to contribute in multiple ways to her side of the net.
Lilly Wagner Lilly Wagner 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2024 State #42 Nation WI – Oconomowoc – Milwaukee Sting
Class of 2024
The Freshman setter is one of the best setters coming out of the Class of 2024. She has the length to touch high, play above the net, and really distribute from pin to pin. A definitely 5-1, run the show type of athlete, she has many intangibles in her favor with how she can command the court already.
2024’s jumping out right away with athleticism and good movement.
180 – Melia Johnson Melia Johnson 6'2" | OH Slinger | 2024 State #140 Nation WI
169 – Anna Bjork Anna Bjork 6'3" | MB Oconomowoc | 2024 State #54 Nation WI
176 – Caroline Harris Caroline Harris 6'0" | OH DSHA | 2024 State WI
196 – Emerson Van Lannen Emerson Van Lannen 5'10" | S Appleton North | 2024 State #144 Nation WI pic.twitter.com/HVZk0C01Mj— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) August 7, 2020
Anna Bjork Anna Bjork 6'3" | MB Oconomowoc | 2024 State #54 Nation WI – Oconomowoc – Milwaukee Sting
Class of 2024
Bjork has the size and physicality to be really dominant at her level. She’s already established a strong connection with Wagner as her setter during club and high school and these two could be quite the duo to watch the next few years. Bjork has demonstrated how she is a force on the net and can attack off one foot to score points.
Berkley Mischler Berkley Mischler 6'1" | MB Appleton North | 2022 State WI – Appleton North – Milwaukee Sting
Class of 2022
Mischler is on the radar of some top programs in the Midwest and with her jumping and tools at the net she is a force to be reckoned with. The Prep Dig scouts have gotten photos of Mischler blocker where it looks photoshopped with how high she can touch and the way she can press. Even watching her since the 15s level, she had a knack for the ball. She will play this club season with Milwaukee Sting and it will be fun to see her progress develop along the way.
Kennedy Martin Kennedy Martin 6'6" | OH Nation Ford | 2023 #23 Nation NC – De Pere – FC Elite
Class of 2023
Martin is eye catching in how she can approach and sky to the ball. She tested at the Summer Showcase this past August with a 10’6 approach touch. The building blocks are all there for Martin as she will be up on the FC Elite 18 Elite squad this club season.
Evinae Jordee Evinae Jordee 5'9" | S Middleton | 2023 State WI – Middleton – Capital Volleyball Academy
Class of 2023
Silky smooth setter, Jordee was able to play in some Prep Dig Fall Events with Middleton not having their high school volleyball season until the spring. Jordee can run a 5-1, lefty handed and moves really well around the court. She has really solid intangibles to bring her team together and seemed to rise when things were close which what you want in any setter.
Andi Spies – Fort Atkinson – Capital Volleyball Academy
Class of 2024
Spies is the real deal. Put her anywhere on the court and she is going to make it look natural no matter the spot or position she needs to play, just a pure player. We had Spies in our 2023 rankings because she had always played up on her club teams, but came to find out we get to have her in the Class of 2024. A silky smooth setter who can hit all the tempos anywhere on the court, she plays with the savvy and IQ beyond her age level.
