We’re moving around the state to take a look at as many clubs as we can in the state of Indiana. This series of articles will focus on not only the signed seniors but the unsigned kids that can make a difference at the next level. Here we go!

18 Elite Rage

The flagship team under the tutelage of former Ball State men’s players Corky Robertson and Eric Bulmahn brings back most of their outstanding squad from last year’s 17 Tsunami roster. The usual suspects are there, including [player_tooltip player_id="85670" first="Raven" last="Colvin"] (Purdue), [player_tooltip player_id="85701" first="Grace" last="Boggess"] (Butler) and [player_tooltip player_id="85697" first="Delaney" last="Garner"] (Harding) anchoring the middle. [player_tooltip player_id="85687" first="Rose" last="Crist"] (Villanova) is a nice, high-flying addition on the pin, while another newcomer, [player_tooltip player_id="85708" first="Brooklyn" last="Schiffli"] (Jacksonville State), can fill in as a three-rotation DS, a full-time libero, or a six-rotation outside in a pinch. [player_tooltip player_id="85711" first="Bella" last="Schumacher"] (Colby) returns after an amazing run to the 3A state final, accompanied by unsigned libero Ellary Detamore, who was also on the Tsunami last season. Between Brooklyn, Bella and Ellary, both serve receive and defense are in good hands. Other returnees to the squad include [player_tooltip player_id="85692" first="Ashleigh" last="White"] and [player_tooltip player_id="102847" first="Cecilia" last="Bulmahn"]. Ashleigh is a converted middle that can play either pin with an absolute hammer for a shoulder and takes up space on the block, while Cecilia can fill in on defense as well as being an outside from time to time.

18 Elite Fury

Similar to Rage, Fury’s roster is mostly signed. Setter [player_tooltip player_id="85788" first="Carly" last="Sobieralski"] (Southern Indiana) is the clear quarterback on this squad, and looks to lead by example. Pin attackers [player_tooltip player_id="85785" first="Makayla" last="Price"] (IU-East) and [player_tooltip player_id="85797" first="Morgan" last="Ulrey"] (Earlham) can either play all six rotations or be a three-rotation hammer. Defensive specialists [player_tooltip player_id="85742" first="Rachel" last="Campbell"] (Trine) and Rena Witham (Spalding) both have the talent to put on the special jersey. Middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id="85786" first="Molly" last="Schwarzkopf"] (Hanover) has enough length and speed to be an M1 in this offense. The other middle, [player_tooltip player_id="85783" first="Abby" last="Mennen"], is a solid M2 and excels in front of the setter. Pin attacker [player_tooltip player_id="85784" first="Makalyn" last="Miller"] should also contribute nicely; her abilities on either pin make her very versatile at the next level. Finally, [player_tooltip player_id="85787" first="Jill" last="Snyder"] should see a good portion of her playing time as a three-rotation DS, and can play any of the back row assignments.

18 Elite Frenzy

The lone signed player on this squad is middle [player_tooltip player_id="85805" first="Sarah" last="Scott"] (Taylor), who will bring her physicality to the position. The rest of the 21s on this squad are unsigned, including DS’s [player_tooltip player_id="85800" first="Lauren" last="Beatty"] and [player_tooltip player_id="85794" first="Chloe" last="Holtz"]. Lauren’s been playing since forever, and her foot speed and anticipation help her touch a ton of balls most can’t get to. Pin attackers [player_tooltip player_id="85772" first="Kyleigh" last="Barker"], [player_tooltip player_id="85801" first="Emilee" last="Bramlett"], Gabrielle Byers and [player_tooltip player_id="85802" first="Mallory" last="Cox"] will all split time at each of the pins. Setter [player_tooltip player_id="85804" first="Maggie" last="Schweitzer"] will run a 5-1 after an amazing season running Triton Central’s offense. Middle Kayla Gaerte will bring some much-needed size to the squad.
