District 4A Columbia Basin Big Nine – The Players to Watch

<p>Over the last few months, we’ve provided you a lot of information about who are the players you won’t want to miss when the high school volleyball season starts in Washington next March. First, we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.</p> <p>For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.</p> <p>The 4A districts are up next and the Columbia Basin Big Nine, home of seven high schools in the area, is the first. Some of their players with the greatest upside are:</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Kyley Cyr – Libero – Junior – West Valley</strong></p> <p>Kyley Cyr had a tremendous sophomore season with West Valley providing the Panthers with a solid presence in their backcourt. The 5’6” libero produced on average around 20 digs per match and went beyond that to register 24 in the match that secure her team the district title tallying 24 against Wenatchee. Her great performances were rewarded with an All-League first-team nomination and an All-State team honorable mention.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97008" first="Alayna" last="Just"] – Setter – Senior – Eastmont</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="97008" first="Alayna" last="Just"] did a great job in coordinating Eastmont’s offense last season. The 5’6” setter registered impressive 458 assists in 2019, averaging seven per set for the Wildcats. Just also helped the team with things setters typically don’t, including her 21 kills, 43 aces (best in the team) and 139 digs (second-best). She was part of the All-League’s first team for her strong showing in 2019. She ranks 29th at prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97004" first="Alex" last="Toth"] – Outside Hitter/Right Sider – Senior – Wenatchee</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="97004" first="Alex" last="Toth"] formed a formidable outside hitter duo at Wenatchee with the district’s Co-Player of the Year Abby Black. Just like her teammate, the 5’10” Toth is very efficient at the net and she also brings the ability to play as a right sider to the table for the Rams. Her solid game earned her an All-League first-team nomination in 2019. Toth currently ranks 25th at prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.</p>
