District 4A Wesco – The Players to Watch

<p>Over the last few months, we’ve provided you a lot of information about who are the players you won’t want to miss when the high school volleyball season starts in Washington next March. First, we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.</p> <p>For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.</p> <p>The final stop of our series is the 4A Wesco district, home of State Championship runners-up Lake Stevens and four other high schools. Some of their players with the greatest upside are:</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97016" first="Marina" last="Tukan"] – Outside Hitter – Senior – Kamiak</strong></p> <p>Let’s tell the truth here – some of [player_tooltip player_id="97016" first="Marina" last="Tukan"]’s angle hits are just unstoppable. The 5’7” outside hitter relied a lot on her go-to shot last year as she led the Knights in that department with 257 kills. Tukan was also formidable in the backcourt, trailing only star libero [player_tooltip player_id="97032" first="Danica" last="Pel"] in both digs (230) and passes (308). Her serving was also as effective as it gets with 38 aces registered during the season and the sum of all those strengths took Tukan to become an All-League first-team member. She ranks 37^th at prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.</p> <p><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/k0aOvJadtQs" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97003" first="Michelle" last="Fast"] – Setter – Senior – Lake Stevens</strong></p> <p>As the team’s setter, [player_tooltip player_id="97003" first="Michelle" last="Fast"] was the piece that made Lake Stevens’ engine take the team all the way to the State Championship final in 2019. The 5’8” ball-handler handed out 714 assists to her fellow Knights and also helped the team in other areas with 52 aces and 181 digs. Her hard work was properly rewarded as she was an All-League first-teamer, received an honorable mention for the All-State team and secured the 24^th spot at prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97011" first="Erin" last="Ingram"] – Outside Hitter – Senior – Jackson</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="97011" first="Erin" last="Ingram"]’s production for Jackson in 2019 was tremendous as she was right up there with the team’s All-State team star Paige Wilson. In her junior campaign with the Timberwolves, the 6’1” outside hitter was a force at the net, ranking second in kills with 200 and leading her team in blocks with 31 points scored in stuffs.
