As we tour the state of Oregon, we will be making many stops throughout this great State. We will be stopping by cities big and small, highlighting the best athletes in those places. Second stop: Salem! Here are the top three middle blockers from the class of 2022:
[caption id="attachment_124998" align="alignleft" width="150"] Photo: OSAA[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="91228" first="Isabella" last="Snyder"], 5’11", MB/OH, North Salem High School, North Pacific Juniors

Snyder had a breakout season for the North Salem High School Vikings. A starter since her freshman year she has made her presence known in the middle, hitting a .284 and totalling 89 blocks on the season. She has been awarded Player of the Match ten times by MaxPreps and Mid-Willamette Second Team All-League. Boeder does an exceptional job turning the ball to right back when attacking from the middle. Very athletic, she also moves well laterally to close the block. Last club season she played for North Pacific Juniors 16-1 National team and she will be returning to NPJ for this upcoming season.
[caption id="attachment_117572" align="alignleft" width="150"] Photo: OSAA[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="91259" first="Jamie" last="Seward"], 5’10", MB/RS, Sweet Home High School, North Pacific Juniors

Seward had another solid season for the Sweet Home High School Huskies as their starting middle blocker. She was an impact player and a go-to attacker for the Huskies. She helped them finish first in the Oregon West Conference and second in the 4A State tournament, falling to Valley Catholic. She received Oregon West Honorable Mention. During club season she saw playing time as a right-side attacker. Given that she is a leftie, it is a natural fit. This past summer she took her skills to the sand, playing for Oregon Sand Volleyball Club with partner 2023 Bella Gamache. Last club season she played for North Pacific Juniors 16-1 National team and she will be returning to NPJ for this upcoming season.
