Recruiting Report: Porsha Porath (2018)

<p>Top ten senior Porsha Porath of Windom Area led her team to a 22 win season and is now looking forward to a college career in the Northern Sun.  Before college begins though Porath reflected with Prep Dig.</p> <p>This fall Porath broke the Windom Area school record for kills after a five year career at the varsity level.  Porath is a three time all conference and three time all area player at Windom who put together some great memories.</p> <p>"My top memory was just spending time with my team, we would do random little things for team bonding and those were always the best," Porath said. </p> <p>Porsha's now preparing for her career at the next level.</p> <p>"I have signed my national letter of intent to play with the University of Minnesota Crookston," Porath said.  "Playing club is going to help a ton but also playing different positions and being able to play where I’m needed is going to help me in college and hopefully help me get in the game in some position."</p> <p>The Golden Eagles were 7-21 a year ago so Porath will have a chance to help her new squad immediately.  </p> <p>MN-Crookston Coach Sarah Rauen is excited to have Porsha not just for her competition skills but for her character.</p> <p>"We are excited to add both Porsha and Hannah (Stark) to the Golden Eagle Volleyball family," Rauen said.<dfn> </dfn>"Both players are great athletes and amazing people, and we can't wait until they are on campus with us. After graduating three outside hitters this year both will help us add depth to that position.</p> <p>"Porsha brings height and dynamic athleticism to our outside hitter position.  We are excited to get her in a Golden Eagle uniform.</p> <p>"I have had a chance to watch her play over the past few years and believe she has a great career ahead of her. Porsha's volleyball experience, strength and jumping ability will help her adjust to the college game quickly."</p> <p>The five year Windom Area starter, who tallied 1,595 career kills, has watched the University of Minnesota closely over the years following the careers of Paige and Hannah Tapp.</p> <p>"I really look up to the Tapp twins coming from Minnesota and making it big is pretty awesome!"</p>
