Continue ReadingWhat has been a shortened club volleyball season is coming to an end in Seattle but the best was arguably saved for the last with the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship set to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 26-July 5.
The event is expected to attract more than 700 teams in the 15 divisions for clubs from 15s to 17s and the state of Washington will be among the participants with at least 11 teams entered to appear in the event.
Between now the stating serve on June 26, we’ll take a look in each of those teams, recapping their club season and pointing out the players you would want to follow in the tournament.
NPJ Seattle 16 National
One of the teams form the North Pacific Juniors Volleyball Club located in Seattle to compete in the GJNC, Seattle 16 National is ready to fight in the 16 USA division. The group of players led by head coach Adam Ellis had a brief club season, but delivered when it mattered, finishing second in the PSR Regional Championship, where it secured the bid to Las Vegas, and third in the PSR Power League.

Players to Watch
Alyna Brown Alyna Brown 5'6" | S Mt. Rainier | 2023 State WA – Setter – HS: Mount Rainier – 2023
As the team’s setter, Alyna Brown Alyna Brown 5'6" | S Mt. Rainier | 2023 State WA carries the responsibility of coordinating NPJ Seattle 16 National’s offense and she does a great job with that. The 5’6” prospect is extremely technical and accurate on her sets and has the ability to find the right hitters at the right time. She has a huge variation on her sets and is able to give each of her hitters exactly what they need. A beach volleyball player too, she’s also an asset in the backcourt, where she manages to impact the game with her serving and digging. She’s also part of our 2023 Prep Dig watchlist.
Téa Bosanac – Middle Blocker – HS: Washington Connections Academy – 2024
A new addition to NPJ Seattle 16 National in 2021, Téa Bosanac has made an impact the program. A class of 2024 product, she plays up one level with the 16s and someone would hardly notice she’s younger than her teammates and opponents because of her 6’3” frame. Bosanac moves well at the net and has a strong offensive game. Her potential has already been noticed by USA Volleyball, as in 2020 she made it to A1 National Girls Select Team.
Nayia Gagliardi – Outside Hitter/Right Sider – HS: Kentwood – 2023
A versatile prospect for NPJ Seattle 16 National, Nayia Gagliardi can play anywhere at the net. A 5’9” outside hitter by origin, she brings some firepower to the team’s offense when at the right too and does a lot of other things well. Her great ball control is one of her main assets as it helps her on the backcourt.
