<p>Promising volleyball players have been standing out all over the state of Washington. From North to South, and East to West, talent abounds in the Evergreen State with young prospects consistently climbing the volleyball ladder in different areas of the state.</p> <p>With that in mind, we’re starting a series that will highlight some of the most promising Washington players according to their positions and regions. This time we’ll be looking at the talent-rich Spokane are and here are some of the most interesting middle blockers in the region.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97164" first="Emily" last="Hutchinson"] – HS: Mead – Club: Renovators – 2022</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="97164" first="Emily" last="Hutchinson"] is a key piece for both her high school team Mead and her club Renovators. A 6’1” middle blocker, she does great work on both sides of the game at the net. Hutchinson is extremely physical and she’s able to transfer all of her athleticism to her game, especially on offense. She’s nearly unstoppable when she hits to her left as send the ball to a really sharp angle and straight down. Her footwork is also really good, which helps her a lot when blocking.</p> <p><iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11702532/5da79f015cb4020c4cc2ea61" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97278" first="Kelsie" last="Delp"] – HS: North Central – Club: Renovators – 2023</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="97278" first="Kelsie" last="Delp"] has been a positive impact in her high school team North Central since her freshman season. She’s also plays for the Renovators Volleyball Club, where she displays all her skills in the middle of the net. Standing at 5’11”, Delp is not among the most physical players in her position but she’s extremely fast and efficient, one of the most lethal combinations in volleyball. She made it to the Greater Spokane all-league first team last season after a strong campaign with the Indians.</p> <p><iframe style="border: none; overflow: hidden;" src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FRenovatorsVolleyballClub%2Fphotos%2Fa.492003777487854%2F4048320088522854%2F%3Ftype%3D3&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="647" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>v</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Abbey Flerchinger – HS: Shadle Park – Club: CPA Extreme – 2024</strong></p> <p>Abbey Flerchinger left a pretty good impression in her first season of high school, in which she got to play alongside her older sister and outside hitter Chloe. A 5’11” middle blocker, she offers a reliable presence at the net for both her high school team Shadle Park and her club CPA Extreme. Flerchinger moves extremely well for a player of her size and age and has a powerful right arm, which she uses to score points on offense.</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; border: 0; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: 0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width: 540px; min-width: 326px; padding: 0; width: calc(100% - 2px);" data-instgrm-captioned="" data-instgrm-permalink="https://www.instagram.com/p/COZfi58sv0b/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" data-instgrm-version="13"> <div style="padding: 16px;"> <div style="display: flex; flex-direction: row; align-items: center;"> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 50%; flex-grow: 0; height: 40px; margin-right: 14px; width: 40px;"> </div> <div style="display: flex; flex-direction: column; flex-grow: 1; justify-content: center;"> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 4px; flex-grow: 0; height: 14px; margin-bottom: 6px; width: 100px;"> </div> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 4px; flex-grow: 0; height: 14px; width: 60px;"> </div> </div> </div> <div style="padding: 19% 0;"> </div> <div style="display: block; height: 50px; margin: 0 auto 12px; width: 50px;"> </div> <div style="padding-top: 8px;"> <div style="color: #3897f0; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 550; line-height: 18px;">View this post on Instagram</div> </div> <div style="padding: 12.5% 0;"> </div> <div style="display: flex; flex-direction: row; margin-bottom: 14px; align-items: center;"> <div> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 50%; height: 12.5px; width: 12.5px; transform: translateX(0px) translateY(7px);"> </div> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; height: 12.5px; transform: rotate(-45deg) translateX(3px) translateY(1px); width: 12.5px; flex-grow: 0; margin-right: 14px; margin-left: 2px;"> </div> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 50%; height: 12.5px; width: 12.5px; transform: translateX(9px) translateY(-18px);"> </div> </div> <div style="margin-left: 8px;"> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 50%; flex-grow: 0; height: 20px; width: 20px;"> </div> <div style="width: 0; height: 0; border-top: 2px solid transparent; border-left: 6px solid #f4f4f4; border-bottom: 2px solid transparent; transform: translateX(16px) translateY(-4px) rotate(30deg);"> </div> </div> <div style="margin-left: auto;"> <div style="width: 0px; border-top: 8px solid #F4F4F4; border-right: 8px solid transparent; transform: translateY(16px);"> </div> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; flex-grow: 0; height: 12px; width: 16px; transform: translateY(-4px);"> </div> <div style="width: 0; height: 0; border-top: 8px solid #F4F4F4; border-left: 8px solid transparent; transform: translateY(-4px) translateX(8px);"> </div> </div> </div> <div style="display: flex; flex-direction: column; flex-grow: 1; justify-content: center; margin-bottom: 24px;"> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 4px; flex-grow: 0; height: 14px; margin-bottom: 6px; width: 224px;"> </div> <div style="background-color: #f4f4f4; border-radius: 4px; flex-grow: 0; height: 14px; width: 144px;"> </div> </div> <p style="color: #c9c8cd; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 8px; overflow: hidden; padding: 8px 0 7px; text-align: center; text-overflow: ellipsis; white-space: nowrap;"><a style="color: #c9c8cd; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: 17px; text-decoration: none;" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/COZfi58sv0b/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A post shared by Kirsten Flerchinger Lynn (@kflerchinger12)</a></p> </div> </blockquote> <p><script async src="//www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script></p>
