Mother McAuley is currently 1st in class 4A and falls 2nd overall across the state. McAuley advanced in the regional playoff after securing a win over Reavis High School on Thursday. McAuley had a competitive game and an outstanding performance and I am excited to see them as they continue their journey to the state finals.
The Reavis v. McAuley game was a sight to see. Both teams brought their A-game and though Reavis was defeated by McAuley, they still managed to put forth their best effort.
There are some athletes that managed to catch my eye during the playoff game against Reavis.
Maeve Moonan, outside hitter, caught my eye as she is a powerful hitter and had an outstanding performance this past Thursday. She is attentive and quick on her feet when it comes to being a leading scorer. Moonan is a very assertive athlete and is one I am excited to see during the journey to the state finals.
Peyton Brokemon, outside hitter, is another athlete that has managed to catch my eye during her performance against Reavis. She is a strong hitter and very quick on her feet. Brokemon is another athlete to watch during the journey to the state finals, as she is manages to move well across the court when it comes to the ball being in play. I am excited to see what Brokemon continues to bring to the table.
Mother McAuley is currently 31-6 overall and 6-1 within their conference. Mother McAuley is expected to advance to the regional playoff in the next few days.
