It is going to be a great weekend to be a Laser! Kettle Moraine is the only school to have both the girl’s and boy’s teams earn a spot in the state tournament this year, a huge accomplishment and something that is great for school spirit. The boys will play at 4 PM against Westosha Central on Thursday and the girls have their match at 7 PM against Burlington.

The boy’s program has had an amazing 7 state appearances including winning the state championship in 2020. They beat Middleton in four tight and competitive sets to bring home the sectional final. Some of the key players on this Laser team include offensive powerhouse Christian Gulak, setter William Gehrke, libero Mason Frohna, and pin hitter Jaden Sauer.
The girl’s volleyball team has a 31-6 record and beat Wisconsin Lutheran to earn their Sectional Championship. They went 7-1 in the Big Eight Conference, arguably one of the most competitive conferences in the state this year. Their only conference loss was to Oconomowoc who is ranked #1 going into the state tournament this weekend. KM only has one other state tournament appearance on the girl’s side which was in 2019.
